Interesting that the lines from SF to Tahoe pass very, very close to Rio Vista.

why is that interesting?
I’ve always been interested in Rio Vista. I spent a lot of time there as a kid, fishing as well as working part time. Also, our next door neighbor back then, a guy who is the closest I’ve ever had to an actual Zodiac POI (which is to say, not too close, mainly circumstantial, but closer than any other) built boats on his property and used to put in at Rio Vista for shakedown cruises before selling them. Also, for a period of a couple of years, he was part owner of a building in the old section of town. His partner in that venture was some old man from England who was never around. The semi-POI would let us into the downstairs part of the building, but no one was allowed upstairs, not even his wife or kids.
