Hello to all members.
I have a query regarding Paul Stine’s shirt:
From what I can gather, Zodiac took a sample of Stine’s shirt before wiping down the taxi and moving on. Further to this, Z mailed with two of his letters a smaller sample of the shirt. Having seen somewhere an evidence photograph of the original blood-stained shirt, accompanied by a piece of returned sample, I wondered whether the shirt had been reunited in its entirety? Or was there still a section missing, still out there somewhere?
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

The Zodiac mailed three pieces of shirt.
1. Paul Stine letter-October 13th 1969
2. Bus Bomb letter-November 9th 1969
3. Melvin Belli letter-December 20th 1969
There is still a portion remaining. The mailed pieces do not fully reconstitute the missing section.
wondered if he took the torn shirt with him or did he hide it somewhere and came back for it a few days later.
Many thanks for your reply, Richard. It would be interesting to see the shirt together with the three pieces.
Mr. Iowe: Re missing portion of Stine’s shirt: as disgusting as it sounds, I suspect he used it for masturbating. Remember, we’re dealing with a sicko here.
The pieces are pretty neatly ripped off. They don’t look like they were cut. This is something that I’ve seen people familiar with sewing and clothesmaking do. Considering that Z produced the hood costume, I think he must’ve been somewhat familiar with fabrics.

Yes, or as some have observed, possibly trained as a medic, at least enough to tear bandages under dire circumstances.
Bumping this up. I had never seen that photo before. There’s no doubt those pieces came from Stine’s shirt.
Where is the other piece of shirt?
Zodiac was a screwup. He left behind five breathing victims, two survivors, bootprints, possibly fingerprints and palmprints, tiretracks, eyewitnesses, and earwitnesses. If the APB had gone out for a WMA he would have been locked up in ’69.

But a trained medic leaves victim’s alive? Not likely.

Zodiac didn’t need to have any special medical knowledge to know that if he shot his victims in the head — or cut their throats — they would die. But Zodiac chose not to do that at BRS and LB. So perhaps it’s time for you to quit assuming.
