I could make a separate thread for this question, but I may as well ask it in this one: if Zodiac is alive and was arrested and charged in the near future, how would he react to being finally brought to justice?
Would he own up to his crimes and attempt to explain them, flatly deny them, or play dumb and confused like Joseph DeAngelo?
Great question! I think he would be well The Z, not himself as a person, he would act like his alter ego, and point a lot of things they missed on the investigation. But to actually get him, i think he needs to do the "one last time" kind lf thing, letters, murders and teasing. I hope he wont, but i think that to catch him, its necessary

My POI is in his early 70s.
I am pretty sure he was alive back in Dec 2018. He leaves clues now and then that are ignored.
He is still alive, he has not stopped killing or calling the police to tell them where they can find the bodies. He has told them he is Zodiac, but they don’t want to believe it. People do not want to believe he could still be alive and killing, that is too scary to think about!
The poster who said he must be long dead, because Zodiac would not have stayed quite all these years? Where have you been? There has been many Zodiac communications over the years. Many have been thought to be from a copy cat or a hoaxer. (There is no proof it was a copy cat or a hoax, just wishful thinking.)
Many of us happen to believe that those were true Zodiac communications.
I can understand why people who have their own suspects who have died long ago, would think those communications couldn’t be from Zodiac. We will know pretty soon who Zodiac really is, because DNA will give us that answer. I will stick my neck out and say I am very sure , he is not a suspect who has been named on any Zodiac site and he won’t be taller than 5 ft 10.

That isn’t what the detectives in Pittsburg think. Not sure if he has done anything sense the late 1990’s? But a person claiming to be Zodiac ,was very active at that time in the Contra Costa County area. He offered one of the female’s $200.00 if she would go with him and his buddy RH to the Vallejo/ Napa area. Thank goodness she recognized him as the man who hit her head with a hammer and tried to stab her with a very long knife. He was driving a white Jag the day he and RH tried to get her. But when he tried to kill her, he was driving a blue truck with a white tool chest on the back. When he picked her up that day, she thought he was just a nice working man and was safe. After she got away from him, he made several attempts to get her in his car again, because she was a witness to him being the killer Pittsburg PD were looking for.
Pittsburg has the killers DNA , so he wasn’t worried back then about leaving any DNA or being tracked.
After so many years of getting away with murder, I doubt he is worried. Although he should be very worried about the DNA that I believe VPD has now. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the news to break any day now!

You state he is "long dead" as if you know for sure .what proof do you have that he actually died or is it a hunch?

There is no indication that Zodiac is dead. He changed his MO and is most likely killing still. Why do people think he is dead? There is no evidence Zodiac has died or been caught for other crimes or stopped killing. He is a killing machine. He is an expert on killing by now. How can they catch a man like this. He is very dangerous and people should respect that idea because if he isn’t dead and comes around again there could be hell to pay.
Thats why I never say unkind words about the Zodiac. I don’t want to get on his bad side. If he. comes a calling and a killing I want him to know I am a fan and not an adversary.
