I can tell you right now that if he took classes in cryptography he didn’t take them at RCC. Most likely he submitted a paper on the subject.

If he chose to submit a research paper on cryptography it must have been something he was very interested in.

Right. If there was a class on cryptograpy, a lot of students would sign up for it even if their interest was minimal. I know I took several classes in college based more on my schedule, or because some friends were taking it, or because I thought it would be easy. For instance I took a class in Anthropology and hated it. But if someone saw my transcript, they might falsely assume it was something I was interested in.

But when a person is writing a paper where there is some latitude as to subject, they will choose something that truly interests them. Cryptograpy is not all that common an interest. So I would say, Ross writing a paper on that subject outside of being in a class where that would be mandatory requirement is far more compelling than if he was simply in a cryptograpy class and doing the assignments.

I can see that the exact opposite as well. I would never take a class that didn’t interest me in some way. But, maybe in a History class they were discussing the war and were given the opportunity to write about something they discussed in a chapter of the History book. Did he write about the history of ciphers or did he write about how to compose/solve ciphers?

Ultimately, DID he really write a paper…who told Dave Peterson’s that?

And when? When was the first mention of Ross having anything to do with cryptography? After the zodiac started?

Hopefully….one of the 75 police/detectives who put in all those hundreds of man hours asked some of his fellow English classmates or teachers about it. The scene with Petersen’s notes was resurrected to give the viewing audience information validating Sullivan as an intriguing suspect who had other conforming factoids putting him high on cold case radar.

Ultimately the DNA has to match first, then these college submissions, as well as institutional timelines should find their traction, online sleuthing notwithstanding.

This info came from Voigt’s board and I fell for it. Nice work tapping into sources over there. I’m relieved it is a *legit* suspect like Kane, lol. Now we can all rest easy.

Not only didn’t Rader make the final cut, Gaikowski didn’t earlier. But footage was devoted nonetheless.

I received official notification today…there will be no season 2 of The Hunt for the Zodiac Killer.

Ken and Sal were great guys and I’m glad I got the opportunity to meet them. Hopefully I learned something from them, and they learned a thing or two from me. ;)

Did they give or hint at any reason why not? Maybe LE are on the verge of making an announcement and the producers are aware of that… ;)

Oh what a shame Tahoe!!!! That really saddens me. Not that ‘Clarice" or whatever the super computers name was was cool …. cuz that felt silly to me …. but some of it really seemed like they might get somewhere. I hope you are dead on Quagmire and they have an announcement to make and that is the reason there will be no season 2.

Let me get this straight. The History Channel episode dealing with the DNA case (presumably Bates) has been cancelled? Any reason/s why?

Would be nice if the case was solved, so what’s the point, but I honestly don’t know the reasoning behind it. They had millions of viewers.

HISTORY isn’t doing that kind of programming any longer.

Probably millions of the wrong type of viewers (for advertisers). The "foot spa" and "pre-cooked dinners to your door" crowd. Rather than spenders, like the autos and gadgets crew.

When everything you watch has ads for funeral expenses insurance… its time to get funeral expenses insurance. :(

Instead they’re following the You Tube guy that drives to the Area 51 gates.
