I don’t know Chief, he’s very smart or very dumb.

I’m sad he never got to have closure with a conviction. RIP

Yeah, this is just one of those reminders of how old this case is. He was a great cop, and from what I hear, a good family man too. RIP Dave

Sad to hear…RIP.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Sad.

I wish he could have captured zodiac or lived to see the case solved.

RIP. Wish the case would have been solved in his lifetime. As much as this case has affected us to varying degrees, I’m sure it affected him to an even greater degree.

Dave Toschi visited the corner of Washington and Cherry every year on the anniversary of October 11th. This year the lights will be a little dimmer. Rest in peace Dave.

RIP. He was a good man. None of us would be here discussing this case with the knowledge we have without Dave. If we ever solve this damn thing, let’s all pour out two fingers of rye for Inspector Toschi.

Your dad is not the Zodiac.

As a technical consultant, he influenced and evolved a popular view of law enforcement, which up until that time revolved around Efram Zimbalist Jr’s FBI, or The Mod Squad
