It will be released in January 2015, and I think there is a movie, too. It is based on a character named STEVEN Lee. One of the drawings in the book is a duplicate of a "drawing" I found "embedded" in the Peek through the Pines card. If someone will tell me how to post it and the card, I will do it. As far as I know, I am the only one who has the Pine card that for some reason, my computer resolution reveals the embedded images and letters and numbers, as well as a pentagram.

Posted as requested by Deplorableatbest. Deplorable, you may want to explain or elaborate what we are seeing here.

Thank you so much, Morph. The first is a scan of the (Zodiac) Peek Through the Pines postcard. You will note that the scan of the card in this particular instance reveals drawings on the card that for some reason are not apparent on other scans of the card that I have seen. It is almost like the creator of the card made drawings and doodles and notes on papers that were stacked on the card at one time, and they left imprints on the Pines card that can be seen in this scan. As you will note, there is a pentagram, and a letter/number sequence that is on the left hand side and include what appears to be an 8NDROLS as well as other figures I cannot make out. There is also an arrow and to the right of the number sequence there is a "doodle" that looks like a circle with spokes coming out of it and circles drawn on the ends of each of the 5 spokes.

I have never seen anyone but me mention these drawings embedded in that Pines card.

The second drawing is one from the graphic novel that Stan Lee is working on with Disney, titled ZODIAC, and due out January 2015. The comparisons to the drawing on the postcard are obvious. I have for 7+ years been working from the theory that someone whom I cannot name, because he is still living, but a famous comics personage who worked for Charlton Comics and then with Stan Lee at Marvel is very possibly the Zodiac.

It just seems to me that as these people are getting close to the end of their lives, they are putting out clues to the identity of Zodiac.

Interesting, Depolorable, but I presume that’s a copy of the card since it shows both sides. My question would be whether it might not be a copy on which someone has made those drawings and written on the front and back of the copy. I’m not saying that’s the case, just a possibility. Weird why it would be included in the book that way but then again it’s weird that Disney is sponsoring a Zodiac book. Is the whole book about the case?

Very little has come out about it yet, except that it’s centered on the Chinese Zodiac and a teen super-hero names Steve Lee:

Disney Publishing Worldwide has acquired a book based on the Chinese zodiac written by Stan Lee with Stuart Moore, featuring illustrations by Andie Tong.

ZODIAC follows Steven Lee, a young Chinese-American teen who is drawn into a mysterious conspiracy surrounding twelve mystical pools of energy and a power-hungry secret organization. When he and other randomly chosen teens around the world are suddenly gifted with magical powers, they’ll have to find each other and learn how to handle fantastic abilities and responsibilities.

ZODIAC will be published as a hardcover original and goes on sale January 27, 2015. For more information go to http://DisneyZodiac.com

I get what you are saying about the embedded drawings, but it does seem rather significant that the images seen, which scan I saved almost a decade ago, appeared pre-Zodiac in my POI’s comics, and is now pretty much repeated in a graphic novel titled Zodiac, which will be written by one of his comic book partners from the early/mid 60’s.

Sounds interesting. Let us know what you find out about the card and its connection to your POI.

What is it we are trying to see on this card? is there any way you can circle the images? Also, you say this a scan you made around 10 years ago—what is the source of this image?

I found online it about 7 years ago. I would have to go through my files to determine its provenance. The impressions/images are actually very clear. Don’t even have to "try" to see them. They are right out there.

It seems to me the image is showing the back side of the card with part of the front side of the card included at the top. In other words, someone c Whoever posted this image makes a notation that the card was postmarked, but to the best of my recollection, it was not. What you have is not an "original image" from the SFPD or SF Chronicle in 1971, but an image created by someone after. Any images of pentagrams, spokes, etc. are no doubt due to notes, scribblings, etc. made by the person who created this particular image.

Deplorable, interesting update! Thanks for sharing. I’ve always found your POI findings interesting!

It would be helpful if you would go back and determine the provenance.

There is clearly something there and visible, but I think Tracers could be right, if somebody made a copy, and then wrote on or doodled on the copy, and posted it online, this could be what you are seeing. I hope you can go back and find it’s origin.
