<How they know it is Zodiac’s DNA is because they used two of the first letters from "Thee Zodiac" that’s how. GED match is the next step in getting his name.>
Sandy, are you assuming that, or do know for a fact that the lab pulled DNA off both the Chronicle and Examiner letters, and that they matched?
Right Sandy, but what news specifically did Tom announce?
Yes, that’s all I want to know right now, are we certain this is from Vallejo.
“Game Over” seems to imply to they may already have a match ?
Wrong. Voigt said "Game on" not "Game over".
The announcement was made late last night by Tom Voigt , Game over! He received word that VPD found Zodiac’s DNA. We knew that VPD had sent in two of the first letters that were for sure written by Zodiac.

You can see for yourself he said "game on"…

He might have told Sandy something different though.
My bad, took what Sandy Said at face value.

I assume Morf has zoomed off to see what he can find out
If they haven’t run it through Gedmatch yet, how would they know the DNA they allegedly obtained is Zodiac’s?
Something sounds off.
They would know because of where they obtained the DNA from. GEDmatch is the website they use to check against other DNA.
I understand your point, but we’re back to: What if a postal clerk licked the stamp (as Paul Holes suggested).
Can’t call it Zodiac’s DNA just yet, if we take Tom’s announcement at face value.
Yeah, it would probably require something more solid. That’s why I’m wondering if this is from Vallejo. There is another one in the rumor mill that would be much more postive, more certain than letters. We don’t know if it’s true though.
Detective Poyser is a big Arthur Leigh Allen fan. Did VPD match DNA to a neighborhood kid because Allen did not like the taste of the glue on stamps and got others to lick the stamps?

"Our Vallejo suspect is probably still the best lead," Poyser said of Allen. "There are probably 30 different circumstantial things that point to him. … He was extremely intelligent but a deviant dude."
What is interesting…..Poyser went to this extent with Allen….
"Poyser also said Allen was known to have asked other people to lick stamps and envelopes for him, claiming he didn’t like the taste of the glue. "One of his friends actually said he did it for him, and we’ve had a couple people who lived in the neighborhood at the time say they did it as children," he said."
"Poyser said if a clean DNA sample is obtained, police might ask those who licked materials for Allen to submit DNA swabs. If they matched the Zodiac profile, it would provide another link to Allen, he said."
Also….
Kinda odd that Tom has pictures of ALA and a ALA Video at the top of his Facebook.
The last part is a good catch – although it looks like the timeline photos were last updated a month ago and the video was stuck on in May.
I wonder if they have compared with Riverside
I wonder if they have compared with Riverside
Pretty sure Riverside has no suspect DNA profile at present. I think they’re working on it.
But let’s make sure there’s a Zodiac profile, before we get ahead of ourselves.
I thought they had a partial which they compared to their suspect with no match ?
Obviously you are right, useless to speculate until we have more facts

Tom says no one has been arrested or identified.
I know that what ever lab work is involved in the Zodiac case, none of it involves Parabon Labs(the company that has been solving all of these cases with genealogy)
