Hi. I’m just back after an extended absence. I have a picture I took of the guy, but he asked that I not post it. Anyway, as I said, his credibility is very, very low. As for the other guy, the one placed on a 5150 hold, he did not confine his statements to Zodiac speculation.

Can you share the photo privately via PM? How did you learn who the guy was?

This old guy knows a lot about BBQ. I initially struck up a conversation with him at a BBQ place in the foothills west of Yosemite. BBQ is one of my interests, and this guy likes to talk. Eventually, the topic turned to other things, including Zodiac. I’ll send you a picture, but it’s not for general dissemination or posting. Again, he doesn’t have a lot of credibility on Zodiac, in my opinion. He does, however, know a hell of a lot about BBQ.

No, he is not a suspect. He’s the guy that takes care (to one degree or another) of the property near Lodi where he says the ex-residents who were teens in the
60’s and 70’s somehow knew Zodiac. He care-takes the property "to one degree or another" because he’s gone at least as much as he’s there and because the property is, as you can see from the picture I posted on page 3, already in a state of disrepair. He also spends some of his time camping in the foothills and mountains looking for gold, which he claims to find. He’s never shown me any of it, so I doubt him on that score as well, but he does manage to support himself somehow. He has decent, modern camping equipment and an Orvis fly rod. He keeps his old car running well enough for his frequent excursions, although he doesn’t go too far up the hill in the winter.

I’m generally a private person. I don’t seek out new acquaintances, generally. The one exception to this is when I’m riding my motorcycle and stop to eat. I’ll talk to anyone who’s of a mind to talk. I talk to lots of people when I stop at these places. It was only a matter of time until one of them would bring up Zodiac.
