A family missing since 2010 from Fallbrook, Calif. bodies were found in San Bernardino county by a off road motorcyclist in two shallow graves, 100 miles from their home. The disapearance has faded from the news until their bodies were found on monday which sherrifs ruled as a homecide victims. They family had left their home with food out on the counter and their dogs in the backyard and robbery was not a motive as their bank accounts and credit cards weren’t used and they hadn’t told family or friends where they were going.
I learned about this case when that video showing four people that looked like it could have been the McStay family entering Mexico surfaced. This is one of those cases where you wished that the McStay’s had voluntarily vanished instead of this outcome. It sounds like from news reports they have evidence to work with so I hope we will be hearing more in the coming weeks. Thanks for posting, Jay.
Thsnks Jayst,

Thanks Jay, I’d missed that update. What a terrible shame, it really looked like they had decided to disappear for some reason (or at worst the wife had left with the kids and had the husband ‘dealt with’ – shows how the information we are allowed to have can really skew the perspective). This is quite unusual, for a family to be removed from the house and killed elsewhere rather than being contained within their house, especially with two young kids to try and control.

Mcstay father has three suspects.
Very interesting that the police found searches on the home PC that suggested the family were looking at a trip to Mexico, yet if I remember correctly the children did not have passports and the mother’s had expired. Further to that, friends and family insist that the parents had refused to take the children to Mexico on safety grounds in the recent past before their disappearance. I cam easily imagine a professional breaking into the home and planting that kind of clue these days in the hope it leads LE down the wrong path, but in this case there is some strong evidence to suggest it would not have been a subject they would have been googling.
I don’t believe a cartel is involved, i’m sure they would have orchestrated a far more public and bloody crime to maintain the air of fear and brutality they have cultivated. the only thing pointing to drugs is the 100k they apparently had in the bank but weren’t touching even though they were in arrears on their rent. That would suggest they owed the money to someone or were laundering it somehow, hopefully the money trail will lead LE somewhere useful.

They had video of 2 adults with Kids, that matched very closely the Family, walking across the border into Mexico when they vanished. Their car was found close to that border crossing. Kind of weird if they were Mexican drug related killings, to be brought back across the border. I watched a good documentary,I think it was that show ‘disappeared’ on Discovery ID
