So this is a really interesting and unsolved case I have been reading on and was actually going to be a film made by Fincher but was canned for some reason and then re-instated last year so we may get to see it.

13 murders were attributed to the killer and all pretty vicious it seems…..bodies cut completely in half. limbs taken off and often beheaded.

My main reason for really getting interested in this is one of the suspects…..Dr. Sweeney. Eliot Ness was the investigator and after Dr. Sweeney checked into a hospital he began taunting Ness with a series of odd postcards. I would like to find more than the one I can find online to take a look at.

Either way…pretty interesting case. And to top it off, they have death masks of some of the victims, which just adds a creepiness to it.

Here is a link to the wiki…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Torso_Murderer

The official number of murders credited to the Cleveland Torso Murderer is twelve, although recent research has shown there may have been more. The twelve victims were killed between 1935 and 1938, but some, including lead Cleveland Detective Peter Merylo, believe that there may have been 13 or more victims in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown, Ohio, areas between the 1920s and 1950s. Two strong candidates for addition to the list of those killed are the unknown victim nicknamed the “Lady of the Lake”, found on September 5, 1934, and Robert Robertson, found on July 22, 1950.
