A woman who escaped a prison in Michigan in 1977, was caught in San Diego. She was serving a 18 to 24 month sentence for grand larcency and served 8 months of her sentence when she escaped. The reason she was caught, was because of the cold weather in the midwest, the authorities had nothing to do and dusted off some cold files and ran the women’s fingerprints thru the FBI file data base and got a match.

This is such a waste of taxpayer money. Prisons are overcrowded as it is. Just fine this lady and free her.

Guess that’s what her prison guard thought as well…

Stupid is as stupid does. She was probably near her freedom anyway and decided to escape? Make her do some sort of horrific community service.

They should just let her go…it seems silly to have pursued a 60-year-old petty thief after all these years anyway.

203 hours…200 as a penalty, three to see if she can finish her job :D

Agree that this seems like a big waste of time and resources.

Woman will fight extradition, police say she admitted to being escaped prisoner and has a history of arrests with alias and fingerprints that match.
