While I am extremely saddened yet again about two senseless deaths, when are the American people going to wake up and smell the roses, guns = death. Flooding the streets with 350 million firearms statewide means innocent people will die. This right to bear arms to protect yourself from so called criminals is the most ludicrous argument ever, when most of the murders in America are perpetrated from so called law abiding citizens, like this lunatic. Arm each law abiding citizen with an Uzi, a shotgun, four magnums, six grenades, a rocket propelled grenade, a laser guided missile and a Sherman tank and lets see if the murder rate goes down. I am yet again left speechless as to these unnecessary deaths and my heartfelt sympathies go out to their families, but when will America ever learn that the gun culture you covet so much causes more deaths than it saves. You reap what you sow and while successive presidents suck up to the gun lobbyists for fear of losing votes the next Columbine is a matter of when not if and quite frankly it makes me sick. But don’t worry when it happens President Obama and the next ten puppet presidents will say "We are are all deeply saddened by the horror of the latest events and our thoughts go out to the families". I’m sorry but they are empty words and the carnage will continue. I don’t want to sound nasty, but until you change your policy on gun culture the deaths will keep stacking up, thank God America is the land of the free, a land where your free to buy any weapon in the world, as long as you are sane at the point of purchase.

UK,the gun issue is a touch subject here in the USA. I don’t mind discussing it, but we have to be careful,since it borders on political discussion, which is not allowed on here.

That being said, there are millions of gun owners in the USA,and there are tens of millions of guns on the street. The overwhelming majority of gun owners are safe, sane, and allowed to have guns and do so lawfully. Most gun owners have guns for sporting needs(hunting,skeet shooting, target shooting,competitive shooting). Many of us also have guns for home protection, and thankfully,the overwhelming majority of gun owners will never need to use them for self protection. If every law abiding gun owner handed in their guns tomorrow, there would be 2 groups of people still with guns-cops,and criminals. Our constitution provides us with the right to bear arms. Our founding Fathers wrote that into the constitution,and there are millions of us that support that right,and appreciate it. I am a proud,law abiding gun owner, who appreciates the right to bear arms. That being said, I am not some gun nut that thinks you should be able to buy any guns you want,any kind,any time, as many as you want. Most Americans are like me. Most of us support background checks for criminal activity or mental illness. Most of us support ‘cooling off’ periods, where you apply to get a gun,and then have to wait a period of time before you can buy it. We don’t want to see mentally ill people or criminals have guns,and want to support them not getting their hands on them. Most of the time, you only hear the two extreme sides of the argument,those that want zero regulations on guns,and those that want them all off the street. The overwhelming majority of us are in the middle,and fall into neither of those categories. The simple fact is, this country would never be able to pass laws to get every gun off the street,and our citizen gun owners would never give them up.

The old saying, ‘Guns don’t kill people,people kill people’, is 100% true. If guns were never to fall into the hands of criminals or the mentally ill, there would hardly ever be any news about it. Yesterday, there were millions of guns on the street here in the USA, and there were no mass shootings. The same goes for the last several weeks,or months. All these guns on the street at all times, yet only a few incidents overall like this. And think about this, when these mass shootings happen, most of the time, these people are mentally ill, criminals, or lately,terrorists of some sort. When you hear about news reports about people getting shot, most of the time, the shooters are criminals and thugs on the street, who have these guns illegally. They will never turn their guns in and will always have them,so why shouldn’t a legal gun owner have theirs?

It’s happened here in the past, but bombings have killed lots of people, mass killings,but we suddenly don’t try to ban fertilizer.

It’s a touchy topic, and I don’t want to offend anybody with my views, just want to express my opinion as a legal, sane,and safe gun owner here in America, and to let you know, there are millions just like me. Thankfully, the people that do bad things with guns are in the very small minority.

EDIT-1 correction on something you mentioned, you can NOT buy any gun you want here, there are several bans in place on certain assault rifles,and with good reason. Whether you are target shooting, hunting, or using a gun for protection,you certainly do not need to have the same guns used on battlefields during war
