Yes, I agree that TF found the correct Joe Stine living in Napa! Here is his divorce record from wife Helen. I think that the fact the middle initials of both Joe and wife Helen match in the records confirms it.

Paul Stine’s family having addresses in the areas of the murders could have validity to the case somehow. Is it a long-shot? Probably, but it is still of interest.

I agree. It’s a legitimate thing to bring up – has to be. And it doesn’t throw any suspicion on Paul’s brother – it’s just a link. Impossible to say if it means anything – but it’s a link nonetheless.

Some people think Z may have known Stine – which we can’t simply dismiss. I don’t think he did myself – but I don’t regard the opinion as insane. And in that context this information is clearly very relevant.

There is something wrong here. I do not believe that Paul Stine’s sister Carol lived in Vallejo, ever. I think TF may have stumbled upon a different Carol Stine.

This is Roy Harrison’s obit from Oct. 1968. Carol’s last name was Hyter and she was living in Greenville Mississippi at the time of her step-father’s death.

The reason why I got it wrong is that the two different California based Carol L Stine was born 1943 and 1944.
Paul Stines sister Carol L Stine was born May 27, 1943
The wrong Carol L Stine was listed in her May 1972 divorce record (divorce from Alford Z Nease) as born in 1944.

And due to that there was no other birth record, etc on a Carol L Stine born 1944, I wrongly was sure she was identical with PS’s sister CLS, SO SORRY

Concerning the info in Paul Stine’s stephfather Roy Harrison’s 1968 obit saying that Pauls sister Carols’s last name is Hyter and that she was living in Greenville Missouri;
I have not been able to find any records of any Carol Hyter in Mississippi, neither any marriage record of CLS marrying a Hyter.
I have found records of a Carol Hyter listed in 1966 & 1967 in Atwater, Merced, California (thise migt be the correct CLS (H))
Then I have found an Ohio Oct 15, 1984 divorce record between a Bernard A Hyter and a Carol Hyter (listed in the divorce record as the CH was born 1944) the record also says they had been married 20 years, that would mean they got married 1964 and got divorced 1984, BUT I doubt that is PSs sister.
I have not been able to find any Carol Hyter born 1943 (May 27) the DOB of PS’s sister in any state or in any kind of records.

But I am 100% sure that PS’s sister Carol Lou Stine with DOB May 27, 1943 (Mothers nee name: Busby),married Barry L Irwin April 24, 1976 in Nevada.
And I have found several addresses on them in:

I have RLH with his wife Beatrice in Long beach 1964 and that is the ONLY address record I have on him from the "All U.S. City Directories, 1821-1989"

Adding that Paul Stine’s obit says that sister Carol’s last name is Hyter. The obit is posted at Find A Grave. Not sure why brother Joe is not mentioned in the obit.

Well, given that she didn’t know (or remember) that Stine lived in Vallejo, it’s more likely that she simply didn’t know – or recall – that he lived in Napa. Rather than holding it back, I mean. Was she asked explicitly about Napa?

If someone told my sister that I used to live in X about twenty years ago (I only lived there for a brief period), she might be surprised too – because she may have forgotten it, since it wasn’t a lasting thing and I moved around a lot during those years. Stine seems to have moved around quite a bit too.

In 2010 Zodiackiller.com posted an obit on Paul Stine’s stephfather, he died 10 Oct 1968 .

In that obit it was stated that Joe C Stine, Paul Stine’s brother, lived in Vallejo.

However no address on Joe in the Vallejo area has ever been located.

Today I found the Joe C Stine 1967 address !!!
