A lot of discussion of whether Z was hiding in the woods or in a house somewhere in PH or if he left as soon as he escaped. What about a hotel nearby? Googled the Inn and it certainly looks like it’s been there a long time. Just throwing that out there. His comments in the couple letters afterward are pretty convincing to me as being from someone who was observing the aftermath from some vantage point in the vicinity. Certainly possible he’s FOS as well, just throwing some things at the wall like we all do in here. Maybe one day something will frickin’ stick!
I would imagine that the police may have checked the nearby hotels with the sketch. And even if they wouldn’t have, I think it would be pretty hard for Zodiac who must’ve had some amount of blood on him to walk past the desk without an employee noticing and if not then, reporting it to the police afterwards when the news about Stine came out.
The Presidio was a massive military installation with lots of services for military personnel not so much civilian unless you worked as a civilian contractor. To me this points back to Mare Island in Vallejo as any military or civilian contractor would more than likely of had access and some knowledge of the Presidio… Not just any Joe blow had access.
