RG: The whole thing about a code you gotta remember also. Until a code is broken you have never any way of knowing wether it’s a real code or wether it’s just a fake code. INTERVIEWER: What’s that mean? RG: It just means that sometimes the military and all of that sent garbled messages that meant absolutely nothing so that you get the enemy to spend all their time trying to break the code.
Excuse me if this has been brought up already. It is a short audio fragment from Richard Gaikowksi on codes taken from: http://www.zodiackiller.com/SuspectGaikowski.html
I find it interesting because it would seem to indicate some level of knowledge or interest of cryptography. The interviewer is Goldcatcher? Is the full interview available for download somewhere?
Think you heard most of it and unless he is talking about his passport I’m really not interested. There is some things like this that makes you wonder maybe Zodiac. I also like him being a editor. Who knows keep digging but think you heard the most important part of the audio and there is some more but mostly GC on a fishing trip.
Ps. Ask TV over at ZK and he has the full audio and where I heard it years back.
Any available audio would be in these threads at ZodiacKiller.com’s message board: http://zodiackiller.fr.yuku.com/forums/ … XDGE4QrK70
Thanks for the info.
Did Richard Gaikowski call Tom Voigt?
After listening to a fragment of CALLING ZODIAC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTVoNdyv0ZE&t=249 from 4:09 to about 4:19 I knew I had heard this voice before. It took me a couple of minutes to realize that the caller sounded allot like Richard Gaikowski from the .mp3 files over at Tom’s site: http://www.zodiackiller.com/richard.mp3
How long is it gonna take before people realize that there were two Zodiac’s. They worked together. They worked as a team. They were buddies. I knew both of them.
Regardless of whether Gaikowksi is a credible suspect, Nancy Slover (who took the police call from Zodiac after the Blue Rock Springs attack) said that his voice was the closest to Zodiac’s she had heard. Before then she said the recreation in the Fincher movie (by John Carroll Lynch) was the closest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVYAZqopnvA
30+ years after the only time she heard it for like 10 seconds ^^ Looks like every voice or recreation she is presented is "the closest she ever heard".

Both voices I referred to sound similar to me? Mature and measured. Zodiac clearly didn’t have a voice like the psychiatric patient hoaxer who was recorded. He didn’t have a boyish voice like the GSK.

The guy in the video sounds less baritone than Gaik. But still, if I was LE I would want to know who he is!
If it is Gaikowski calling to Tom then the recording is roughly from around the year 2000. While the other recording is from around 1990 I think.

Certainly possible if his voice changed with age.

That makes no sense.
Complete amateur hour experiment anyway. Should have played Nancy half a dozen voices and told her to pick one.
Wasted opportunity. Cheers!
edit – Maybe that was done and cut for ‘reasons’ though. IDK.

As I said, I doubt Nancy would have identified an immature-sounding voice as Zodiac’s.
