Bottom left paragraph of page, mentions a ‘male libraian’ possibly seeing Cheri. Is this referring to Ross?? I don’t think there’s any way to know.
There is more than one way to lose your life to a killer

24 officers next day, 30 officers month following, 75 people interogated…."left them drawing a blank…"
No wonder Riverside PD didn’t want to help with this until 2017….they were embarrassingly incompetent.
No cause for arrest is what they were able found, and Sullivan dies just as Toschi gets to taking prints? According to Dave Peterson? That part is confusinh me…does that info exist, he went down there in 1971 but Ross is gone by then, yes?

That could’ve been what set him off. He wanted her and she was seeing a coworker of his.

Total supposition. There is no evidence he was interested in CJB whatsoever. And “a male librarian possibly seeing Cheri” is about as vague as it gets lol.
@marienbad Like most Zodiac evidence, yes. People in the library said he behaved oddly and disappeared after her murder. When he showed back up, he had decided to dress differently. They suspected him. Assuming he could’ve been jealous based off that statement is a guess, but it’s not out of left field.
Maybe I’m nuts, but I can’t imagine Cheri cheating on Dennis (college football guy) for that smelly weirdo slob Ross:
Nobody normal would haha. However, Ross wasn’t normal.

How long did he disappear for? Looking on here I see differing amounts of time. If Bates’ attacker was scratched because Bates fought like crazy and scratched her attacker that would take some time to clear up. Also he had an alibi, it beggars belief that the police would not check that out thoroughly. Do we know what his alibi was?

I haven’t seen a definite answer for either. It seems odd that for being a supposed rock solid alibi, nobody really knows what it was. If they were locked in on another suspect, as has been said, they could’ve been given an alibi and simply said ok. This could be settled fairly quickly with dna if they properly kept the dna scrapings and hair. I would think the results would give a lot of weight towards him being Zodiac or not, as well.

That’s not how these things work.

As someone who is related to multiple officers and has worked in a PD, it has worked that way and will in the future. Police are not immune from locking into a suspect and being happy to put blinders on. I’ve seen they were locked in on a different guy and if they truly were, any alibi offered by Ross, days/weeks after the fact, could’ve very easily been taken at face value. Police make mistakes. They’re human.
