RE: Newest Private Investigator Project
I am going to obtain a Private Investigator in Solano County. I have consulted him, and am going to retain him. His cost will be $400, and he will access several law enforcement databases and attempt to link Ross to Solano County. He thinks this may be able to reveal info about Jobs, driving records, etc
I will try to get this done asap depending on funds. As always, anybody that would like to donate, donations are always welcomed and appreciated. I am hoping that this Detective being based in Solano County, will help us verify finally if Ross was there in 1968-1974. The previous investigator was looking primarily in Santa Cruz, but we already know Ross was there. Vallejo is the most important puzzle piece we need. I hope to report good news on this front soon!

It’s a worthy project and hopefully will yield interesting results.
However, It’s very possible Ross was Z, committed all the crimes, and had no connection to Solano County.
Issue is we are dealing with 4 counties. Solano County covers Vallejo / Benicia.
But Ross was rumored to live in SF (SF County), probably at Napa State Hospital (Napa County), and might have had a connection to Berkeley (Alameda County).
It’s safe to say Ross did not own a home, and probably couldn’t even afford a real apartment. Meaning he might have stayed in the YMCA or even student type housing around Berkeley. Solano may have been the county he passed though in between Napa State Hospital / Berkeley / SF.
Again, totally worth having a PI look into it, but Z in his first letter didn’t even know the name of BRS park. Everyone from Vallejo knows that place.

Some of what you say may be right, but I think it’s quite likely Z lived or worked in the area of Solano County. His first 2 attacks were there on weekends, so seems like a good place to start. The records I hope this Guy will find are not JUST in Solano County, but hopefully all over CA
