I haven’t read most of this thread yet, however I have been looking at the handwriting on the letters, particularly after Z’s killing spree stopped (or seemed to). I am not an expert and a lot of this is supposition, and will post more details in the next couple days. There are a few differences in the later letters, and I am doing this from memory, so please forgive me if I error… and I also don’t have the ability to analyze the documents properly (microscope and all that jazz).

The most prominent one I see is his y, or Y. It is often written both ways, with the v with a straight line down, and sometimes his usual. I believe his capital E’s are drawn differently He previously would have started with an L and added the other two lines. Now it often looks like I write, a partial rectangle and then add the middle line. Curly’s are often added to a C while printing. His M’s were written as one continuous line most of the time, later are done in parts. And I think I noticed something with the capital A.

So what could this mean? Just a crazy thought, he didn’t write them. Maybe a sibling did to throw suspicion off. Even if you believe your brother is Z, once under conservatorship and in a Psych ward or care facility, you know he can do no more harm.

And the rest of the handwriting is easy to explain its similarities. I write cursive just like my mother, my husband writes a lot like his brother. I don’t know if its been studied, but there could be a genetic component to our handwriting.

Just re-visiting Ross’s writing compared to Zodiac’s. We certainly need more samples of Ross’s writing, and better quality, but there are some marked similarities between Ross & Z

Agreed, I think if we could ever get a copy of a full letter written by Ross, we could see even more

Since he used to write poetry, I wonder if anyone kept any. Maybe he gave girls the poems he would write them/about them, although they probably went in the trash if that were the case. I wonder what happened to Ross’ possessions after he passed away? Maybe Jon has some old boxes in his attic or garage that have old notebooks of Ross’ that he would write in. Not that he would ever let any of us see them or anything. Maybe someone out there has something written by Ross that they would be willing to part with.

Has anyone tried to contact Tiana Silliphant, widow of Sterling Silliphant? Tim Sullivan lived with Sterling in the early 60’s if I’m remembering right. I know Tiana did not meet Sterling until years later, but he may have mentioned Tim and maybe even Ross. She might know something.

Not much to go with on Ross’s SS app. Figured I would start with the numbers.

The left is Ross, the Right is Z. Everything Z was from known Z letters, mostly Bus Bomb and the 408 cipher letters.
The construction of the numbers is very close. The #8 clearly starts from the upper right in both Z and Ross handwriting samples.

Caught something else in Paul’s video. Paul correctly points out something in Ross’s writing which closely matches Zodiac’s. But in the same frame, I’ve added red arrows to demonstrate a similarity that I see, what I call a ‘dinosaur head’ on top of the upper case R in both Zodiac’s writing and Ross’s. See if you agree, I think it clearly has the same shape and design, but the sample of Ross’s writing from the SS card is really bad. The bottom of the R’s don’t look alike, but I wonder if it could be because Z was trying to write fancy in that particular letter? I am wondering if there’s a way that I could order a better quality or digital version of Ross’s ss application?
