One last thing of interest that I don’t think has been posted before is when Harold "left" the Binghamton YMCA, listed in an article dated September 4, 1957. I personally find some of the wording a bit cryptic, "Mr. Sullivan’s plans will take him to another part of the country," as though he was fired or encouraged to leave, but did not want it public knowledge where he was moving to, or why.

(Also, Harriet did not go with him at that point, but stayed on in Binghamton-see my recent post in the Harriet Sullivan thread).

stab someone with a knife at his old apt. how much more is there

I think for you to come on here and make posts like this is wrong. He obviously had mental issues, but to come on here and call his brother a liar?? He quite possibly didn’t know the issue in the apartment. He didn’t believe his brother to be a violent man! It doesn’t mean he is lying. And, to say he is obstructing the case? Why, because some here hot on Ross want the man’s DNA??

this case. i guess Ross was just too crazy to be a threat to
anyone. as far as his brother Jon, how could he know
anything about all of this? he was just his brother’s "keeper."
how could he have been privy to police reports or

now if i could just figure out how to discredit Gerald Katz
and Tim Sullivan? maybe you can help me with that too?

Those kinds of sarcastic posts are not helpful. Please refrain from them. I know you think Ross could be Z, and so do I,but the focus should be on finding People that knew him, and getting more info about him to help rule him in or out as being Z

Knowing now that Timothy was living in San Francisco in 1969 (in Haight-Ashbury area), I think it’s probable that Jon probably knew very little. It was likely Timothy who knew everything, given that it was Timothy who stayed behind in Riverside until summer/fall 1966. It was Tim who knew Cheri. By then Jon was going to college in Stockton, CA, where he began in 1963.

It was Timothy who lived in San Francisco in the summer of 1969. Many mental health patients were released from the hospitals on or before June 30, 1969 due to that law going into effect on July 1. We know Ross was arrested in LA County some time in July 1969, according to Dave Peterson’s notes. It is possible that Ross stayed with Tim after that, as he likely had no where else to live then while authorities were figuring out what to do with him. By then Jon lived in Minnesota and would not return to Berkeley until 1975 or 1976.

Remember that Katz said Ross lived in Santa Cruz and San Fran. This would explain why Timothy thought Ross was the killer and Jon doesn’t.

Perhaps we should search for people who lived in the Haight in 1969 and ask if any of them might have known Ross. We got some hits when we searched Ross’ Santa Cruz address, perhaps we should do similar searches for Tim’s San Fran address or look at nearby spots that were popular in summer of 69.

I had posted months ago when I first joined the forum, that this caper was going to be linked to Haight-Ashby scene. I knew it all along.

Imagination, speculation, opinion and conjecture are great, provided they are used to make leaps from existing facts to new facts to add to the body of evidence. They can generate useful questions that can sometimes lead to new information.

But too often they are used as substitutes for facts and evidence, or people linger in imagination too long without producing some sort of useful piece of evidence.

I had an idea that the Zodiac might be in films of Haight-Ashby, Golden Gate Park concert, and events such as these. He loved attention and would try to get on camera if he could. It would be nice to have a picture of him from Haight-Ashby.
