Why were the windows down? You assume that it was cold.

It was described as being unseasonably warm that night. In fact one of my contacts was a little kid named Dana at the time who heard a scream that night because his bedroom window was open from the uncomfortable weather.

I can completely see this. CA has very strange weather in Spring and Fall.

"Why didn’t her friends or anyone else see her in the library? They could have just missed her. I know people are inattentive and sloppy. So, I have no trouble imagining that people can just miss things. I know that its easy to miss someone in a library because I have spent more time in libraries than I have ever cared to. If she left the library and went elsewhere, I would expect someone to have seen her, whether as she left the library, on her way to her destination(s), at her destination(s), or on the way back to the library."

I think it’s possible but in my experience college students on weekend nights at the library are going to be out looking for potential romantic interests. I work on a college campus and every time someone comes in a building they scan the entire place for friends or attractive people. Cheri was an attractive girl – probably why the Mexican American student noticed her in the first place. Plus, library’s require you to go get books all over the place, increasing the chance someone would see her. And, that library was tiny tiny tiny. Over 70 people were in the library during those 3 hours – it’s hard to imagine no one noticed her. Plus, she checked out books (why doesn’t the librarian remember seeing her if he/she checked out books?) and if she stayed to 9 whoever was closing the library would definitely have noticed her leaving or had to shoo her out.

I have noticed in some Tiger Times articles the year before that they had some separate study areas in other locations – i don’t know if those were active on the weekends at night – but perhaps she was there. I don’t quite understand the geography of those. Also, she being there for bibliography work, I’ve posited before that perhaps she got access to the Harvard annex – usually closed on the weekends. I wonder if they had a typewriter in there. When i look at the crime scene photos, I can’t get over just how close she died to that building. Literally 10 feet and she was on that side of the road angling toward it. I also think it’s possible that she exited around 6:15, like Tom said.

This picture seems to show a table obscured by stacks. If CJB is sitting at that table with her back to the stacks, how would you see her unless you walked right up to her?

That’s the annex where students could gather during the libraries off hours.

Cheri’s stated goal was to check out a couple of books, which she did. There would have been zero reason for her to hide in a corner of the library until it closed.

She couldn’t have been abducted at 6:15 pm.

Why not?

Her abductor didn’t need to actually hold a gun to her, he could have flashed it, or did the Ted Bundy thing and pretended to be a cop.

As previous mentioned. Couldn’t have happened as 4 people were sitting on a wall in view of her car and did not see this?

Even if true it still brings me back to the following. 2 people were not cleared in the re-inactment, a man and a women. We have the man possibly in the alley where she was found. The woman disappears into fresh air ?

Again her father states that would not stay in the Library to study, she did this at home.

Dads know everything about their teenage daughters and people never change their minds. But you might be right.
