Created this cipher crack test to see if a simple english text can be solved containing out of 63 homophones…don’t spend too much time on it:

Ciphertext
r<BR#^O[?>25O&c2E!NA_bLU(O_z^CM)dG3.T25lH#ccO&c+SWP/1E(JeN!_pQr@*V2GORt-BA#H2C#4lL!Tzq-#SU6W<|rOG2[b^:#c>?eH3+S!Q#_t5TAXDLF6#&(OE7zUWJ+^lVP2frTOG@!<t5(R2&!7|_DMH[O?S;:dpW>qe#c3rP)JGF./HV4QRS2E!W@6#c<r[OX2D1G|TAH_>S3*7B:7dbLfe#UlMWP);.zq/?Q+^!%tFOAr265J|N1=7f*VRO:&[-#Ge?HQCS@BL;bW2qM(zElT6FU|#r<+f(p!t^!-:l!OJV24O5c2RG>)-.[HeNAXd

Hint: The homophone sequences have not been shuffled, so expect the homophones to come one-by-one in order..also I used a comparable if not identical distribution of letters, as did Z when setting up the 408.

r<BR#^O[?>25O&c2E!NA_bLU(O_z^CM)dG3.T25lH#ccO&c+SWP/1E(JeN!_pQr@*V2GORt-BA#H2C#4lL!Tzq-#SU6W<|rOG2[b^:#c>?eH3+S!Q#_t5TAXDLF6#&(OE7zUWJ+^lVP2frTOG@!<t5(R2&!7|_DMH[O?S;:dpW>qe#c3rP)JGF./HV4QRS2E!W@6#c<r[OX2D1G|TAH_>S3*7B:7dbLfe#UlMWP);.zq/?Q+^!%tFOAr265J|N1=7f*VRO:&[-#Ge?HQCS@BL;bW2qM(zElT6FU|#r<+f(p!t^!-:l!OJV24O5c2RG>)-.[HeNAXd

UPDATE: In fact the ZDK comes up with a 95% solution within a few seconds only..

UPDATE II: 51 of the 63 homophones were correctly solved with sort of standard settings. Nevertheless the text was readable, at least it showed up with a list of 22 words longer than 6 letters. My maximum at the 340 was five to eight..the cleartext for those interested: ‘The sun is shining in my face and I can feel the wind tugging at the ends of my clothes. It is a beautiful day, warm but not hot. It is enough so that you can walk around in pants and shirt. With my hands in my pockets I stroll through the streets lost in my thoughts. I like to watch the people around me. There are so many variations of expressions but most of them are tired and worn out. Hardly anybody is smiling. Is the best of all.’ (last sentence modified so it fits the 340 cipher length).

Naw, that’s not the solution. The real solution is hidden in the gibberish like "gyke".

The message is "hot dog tahoe tofu". Tahoe27, have you been tricking BBQ guests by secretly serving soy dogs?

 You found me out.
