How about THE flick that, horrorwise, has everyTHING? Soundtrack, quality actors, plot, dialogue and, not least, special effects.

If you like Deathgasm, here’s a fun short film on a similar theme: https://youtu.be/bd8V-y0KgjA

A good friend of mine made a film called 13 Dolls in Darkness, which is amazing and is doing very well in a lot of underground horror film festivals around the world. She is currently filming a movie called A Black Candle for Angela, which will also be amazing.

I love classic horror and sci-fi.

·The crimson ghost (1945; series)
·Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959)
·Frankenstein (1931)
·The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976)

…and so on. I’m sure you all know most of them

A modern horror film which I recently watched, and thought was awesome, was "welcome to Willits", the film reminds me of my home town, believe it or not most the crazy folks in the film are strikingly similar to people I have met.
General plot: a group of kids go camping in northern California, however, the spot they chose was on private property, and the owner of the property had lost his mind on "emerald methamphetamine" and is caught in a delusion involving aliens and his "recovered memories" of being abducted. Swept up in his paranoid delusion, and believing that the unfortunate campers were sinister extra terrestrials, a massacre enthuses.

It really is much better than it sounds.

I love the original black and white universal classics, especially the Wolf Man with Lon Chaney, Jr. That was followed by Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, House of Dracula and House of Frankenstein. Hammer put out some good horror flicks too, Curse of the Werewolf being one of my faves. Anyone ever seen Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black? Saw that as a child (probably irresponsible parenting) and although it seems very campy today, it scared the hell out of me. As did the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (more irresponsible parenting). The scariest part was the opening where it says it was based on a true story. Didn’t know about Ed Gein then, so I just figured out in Texas there were a couple maniacs roaming around hacking people with chainsaws. Always a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street. The Blair Witch Project was novel and spooky at that time. I don’t watch a lot of horror movies now, but Stephen King’s It was very well done (I liked the original mini-series too) and probably the scariest movie I watched in the last five or so years was The Strangers. Man the dude with the burlap sack over his head was creepy. Another movie "based on a true story" which really amounted to nothing. I remember the female victim asking, "Why are you doing this?" "Because you were home," one of the strangers replies. A perfect serial killer answer. Reminded me of Richard Trenton Chase.

I had to sit through Little Shop of Horrors as a kid at the movies. It was so bad it was truly horrifying :).

Random comment:

In the "from dusk ’til dawn" series, the character "richard" looks similar to what I think zodiac would look like.

"The Indestructible Man" with Lon Chaney. Chaney rides the elevator at Angels Flight in LA and walks around the Bradbury building. The same building that was used in Blade Runner.

Movies have pretty much sucked for the last 15 years. It’s remakes and comic book movies. The originality is gone. Horror movies are now all paranormal crap. What happened to the old-school style slasher flicks? I am looking forward to 3 From Hell and hope that it is good. One of the better horror movies I have seen lately is Terrifier. I heard that it is a sequel, but haven’t checked into that just yet.
