This Les Sipes photo was taken March 22 1961 and labeled "Various directional shots from summit of Mt Diablo on a relatively clear day.
Les Sipes was a bay area photographer who worked for the Oakland Tribune and the Contra Costa Times from the 30’s through the 70’s.

Great pictures as always! Are you sure that car is a Corvair and, not a Mercury Comet? Because whatever it is,  that is what my suspect drove in Vallejo in the winter of 1968. Only his was a light golden-brown color.  Kathleen Johns said it looked like it was tan in color. The Comet came out with bucket seats in 1963 and had a center console, which also fit what Kathleen Johns said the abductor’s car looked like. ( She was the best witness of any other!) 

I remember the indentation lines along the side of it were like that and went from one end of the car to the other! The Comet and Darlene’s car, as well as the Falcon, looked a lot alike. Mike M first said the shooter’s car looked like Darlene’s car only a bit larger and that it also looked like a Falcon.
