Ancient as I am, I remember when a theater showed TWO movies, plus a cartoon. I rarely go to movies now, as I feel cheated. Further, I find contemporary American movies cesspools of violence: people aren’t humans, they’re targets for psychopaths on both sides of the badge. And, please, don’t get me started on reality "games"!

What do you mean by "reality "games"’? Like The Sims?

While games like Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty are the best sellers, there are a lot of thoughtful people who play video games and criticize the medium for it’s cheap and lazy reliance on violence as a mechanic that is really limiting the potential for what video games could be.

The Last of Us, and Shadow of the Colossus are regarded as two of the best games ever made. The first is very violent, the second not much so, but both games end by expressly showing that violence is a bad thing and using the unique medium of video game interaction to make the player feel morally culpable for having participated in it.

What Remains of Edith Finch and The Witness are both great games with excellent visuals that don’t feature any combat mechanics. The first is an interactive story and the second is about exploration and puzzle solving. There are a ton of games in these genres.

Journey is a game where you just kind of walk around in a fantastic world and have experiences with things, there are no goals or objectives or points and it defies the conventional definition of what a game even means.

As an adult, I love having the choice of video games to play and personally love GTA and all of the war games. It’s bad parenting that’s the problem.

Anyone watching the Unibomber series "Manhunt" on the Discovery Channel? Can’t believe Sam Worthington is involved…! I forgot to watch it and hope I can stream it later on!

The Unabomber Series was really good. I found myself looking forward to each episode every week. Although I’ve read (and heard from AK Wilks) that the profiling expert’s role was greatly exaggerated in the series, it’s still a compelling drama.

The Love Boat. Hawaii five-0 with Jack Lord. Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter. The Lawrence Welk show. Bonanza. Jay Leno’s garage. Celebrity Family Feud with the Drew Peterson family versus the Scott Peterson family. Not really but there have been a couple of shows about them on TV lately.

Lethal Weapon, The Blacklist, the Walking Dead, Homicide Hunter with Joe Kenda, Killing Fields, any History channel documentary and right now, the Winter Olympics. I’m sure I am in the minority here but I prefer the winter games to the summer games. Love the half pipe tricks by both the snowboarders and the skiers.

I watched the miniseries on H.H. Holmes and the recent one on the Zodiac as well. I hope I am in the majority here when i say I found both very disappointing!

I am ashamed to disclose that my wife got the Downton Abbey series, made me watch it and I actually liked it. Please don’t tell anyone!

I enjoy The Blacklist as well. James Spader is fantastic.

I probably watch too much television. I like quite a few travel shows as they give me ideas for where to stop when going on trips. As for fictional shows, I watch Criminal Minds, Dark Matter, Designated Survivor, Homeland, How To Get Away With Murder, Mr. Robot, Riverdale, The Mick, The Walking Dead, The X-Files, Travelers, Vice Principals and Z Nation. I also like some non-fiction series like Expedition Unknown, Horizon, Mysteries and Scandals, Mythbusters, Nova, Penn & Teller: Fool Us!, and others. Then I have to watch my NHL team play too, lol.

·Dark Netflix series; this series is in German, which I actually enjoy, but to those who might not enjoy subtitles I can promise that the content of the programming is captivating to the point where you stop noticing them. The series involves time travel, a small German town which is home to a nuclear power plant, and a cast which is presented to you in past and future tense.

·memoir of a murder Korean film; subtitles; an aging murderer with dementia desperately tries to.save his daughter from her new boyfriend, who he has discovered is also a serial killer. This film is great.

·bluebeard Korean; subtitles; a doctor is treating his landlord, and while under anesthesia his landlord begins speaking about dismemberment of human bodies. This leads the doctor to investigate and attempt to prove he is renting from a serial killer.

·welcome to Willits American; a group of friends goes camping in northern California, unfortunately they chose to camp on property which is owned by a delusional methamphetamine user who believes that sinister extra terrestrials are invading his property. Needless to say it turns into a massacre. I like this film, even though the acting is pretty bad and the budget was obviously on the low end. Its a "good" bad movie, if you know what I mean.

·The Alchemical Dream: Rebirth of the Great Work terence mckenna leads us through Prague detailing the history of alchemical Prague and the kingdom of Rudolph the second as well as Frederick the Fifth, Elector Palatine, Prince of Heidelberg, King of Bohemia and his wife his wife Queen Elizabeth of Bohemia. Well, the Habsburgs of Spain got word of this alchemical kingdom and put together an army to lay siege to prague. Elizabeth was forced to flee to the Netherlands with her children and Frederick was defeated at the Battle of the White Mountain thus the alchemical dream came to a brutal end. …or so it would seem.
I highly recommend this modern classic.

Just finished watching “The Serpent”. A friend recommended it to me. Wasn’t sure at first but spent the day and watched all of the episodes. Really enjoyed it.

Pickford was brilliant but yeah, heartbreaking. Not much consolation but they took it right to penalties at the end of a whole tournament. That’s a lot of football with some impressive teams beaten. But yeah, a win would have rounded off the day nicely after Djokovic winning Wimbledon. For me anyway.

The Serpent was brilliant. Enjoying The Sinner with Bill Pullman as the reticent and withdrawn detective atm.
