QT, was this a general course, or are you making note of facts as they pertain to the behaviour of good old Zodiac?
I ask ‘cos in any case, I would say:
"All actions are decideratum-driven" – yes. Decide to do something, then do it. Fair enough.
"Each scene is completely different, mostly no similarities" – umm, is this Zodiac? The similarities and differences keep all the boards going…..!
"Personification is major motivation to make decisions (besides MO)" – didn’t get this one. The victims personas?
"Motive is irrelevant, the decisions may lead to conclusions, comparable actions with other crimes" – is motive ever irrelevant? Huh?
"Each scene allows to figure out various decisions" – well yes, but that’s not all that insightful.
"The closer a killer is to his victim, the higher the chance that he knew his victim (eg suffocation by hands vs garrot)" – well yes. If you’re going to generalise, that’s a reasonable generalisation. But factor in rapists (raping strangers), and stranglers like the Hillside guys. This doesn’t always work. (Nothing does.)
"The more scenes of a crime, the higher the intelligence of a killer" well perhaps, yes. ‘Cos he escaped, he wasn’t entirely stupid. Factor in the competence level of the authorities, too, and the MO which he happens to hit upon. Gary Ridgeway wasn’t a genius, after all.

Was the course good? These topics are interesting, that’s for sure.

Yes, it was a general course about forensics / criminal psychology. They guy talking about it is involved in all bigger cases in little country Austria (no cangoroos..). He was responsible e.g. for the Fritzl and the Natascha Kampusch case.

Not so many hard facts after all…however I like the idea of checking the decisions on a crime scene instead of asking blindly for the motive. Why, for example at Lake Hermann, had Z been walking towards the car? Why did he shoot the car? Why did he shoot David execution style? Why did they leave the car instead of driving away? etc..it should imply that they in fact may had known Z..lot’s of speculation.

He said one thing is for sure – no crime scene does look similar to another one at all. The personification, however, is e.g. shooting young couples. Whey not other people? Stine actually doesn’t fit this pattern, but this is a personification, too. It prooves, that Z was not strictly focussed on shooting young couples. To shoot Stine must have had a different reason. To attract people’s attention? Not really..that was the purpose of his letters. Killing as a hunting hobby? Not either, as it is no hunting game inside a cab. Superaggression? Could be, but not so in Lake Berryessa – that crime was well pre-organized. I read somewhere that Paul had contacts to Vallejo, that Darlene had contacts to Riverside. Z mentions his little list. Personally I would assume that Z had known all or most of his victims. Kathleen Johns however merely fits that pattern..so one question is still open: What was the personification Z had followed in his crimes? Collecting slaves? Killing as an experience? This doesn’t seem to be enough..

Just happened to catch this news item on CNN.

Tampering case: Ex-chemist gets 3 to 5 years
http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/22/justice/m … index.html

Interesting in it’s own right, of course, but I mention it because it mentions Suffolk County District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark.

I was not into Z-research when Jake was writing about the Zodiac Killer, but I got my first understanding of the case from his summary, and I often revisit his writeups because they are very neatly organized. And, naturally, I have read many of his older board postings.

I have often wondered what became of him. I presume this is one and the same Jake Wark–the name is not such a common one–but I may be mistaken.

Does anybody know?

I am almost finished with Keliher and Van Nuy’s Book. Pretty good read. I listen to Dick Dale music while reading it.

It’s been that way for a few days and includes all of his sites. I checked Whois and he’s paid up until Jan. 2015 so it’s not for lack of funds. He has had his site suspended before due to posting things that were copyrighted by others.

I had to look it up:

The Ninth Step:

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others

Huh? Why do you need to make amends to RSG, Spooky?
