Again, I’m very early on in the book, but it’s stated that he imported books from Mexico or something along those lines. I will have to double check, I know it was Mexico because I immediately thought of the Lee/Mexico talk from the BRS reports

In school, Best told his Friend about an ‘asian slave box’, and told his friend that he believed some cultures collected the souls of their slaves for the afterlife in those kind of boxes. He told his Friend that he would like to ‘collect one of his own’, and would walk down the halls and point to a girl,and say "she’d make a good one, don’t you think" (meaning slave)

In the early 60’s his Brother Rufus lived in Meridian, Miss. thats the only Miss. reference so far

Paul Avery began working at the Chronicle in 1959. It’s possible that he wrote the stories about the couple in 1962, 1963 and 1964. Later in the ’60’s he moved his family to Vietnam for a time. I will need to check the Chronicle microfilms!!!

Since I have the audio book version, I can not see any writing samples. The youtube ones look fuzzy and go by too fast.

The book is well planned, and apaprently researched. The author (in my audio book)reads the book aloud,and has an even clear voice. I personally prefer audiobooks to reading them myself. That being said, I am just finishing part 1 of 2, and it took me 5 hours to complete the 1st half. It’s really drawn out, but I guess he was trying to give the full story’s background. Now I hope we get to the zodiac links for part 2
