Yes on most of those points. But the watch aspect has been disputed, not sure if there is definitive evidence on where it was sold.

The bomb disposal guide thought to be the inspiration behind Zodiac’s bizarre costume, most likely distribued to law enforcement and military,
the ammunition of course which you brought up
also in Zodiac’s letters he uses terms such as out of cover, silhouettes, targets, etc. agreed?

Yes, correct. However there are several possible inspirations for the Zodiac hood and costume. Ones that have been mentioned include medieval executioner outfits, hoods worn by outlaw Jessie James and others.

Also gun expertise, tactical skills and use of military language are not confined to active duty or former military. One example, my primary suspect did not serve in the military, but he owned and used guns and was an excellent hunter. I also show in his journal he wrote, in observing mine workers he would shoot with a rifle, that he "watched them from cover."

As you pointed out also, military shoes can be bought at many places. So there is a series of clues which point to an active duty or former military person, but which could also point to someone who never served, but developed some familiarity with guns, hunting, tactics and military terms.

Yes, point well taken
your suspect sounds interesting, what do you have connecting him if you don’t mind me asking and don’t worry, I won’t write a book about him I promise, hehe :)

We have a section here called Suspects & POI’s. In that there is a seperate section for all the major suspects, Ted Kaczynski is there. Also Allen, Gaikowski Kane, Mr. X and several others. Several of the named suspects have some military background and/or demonstrated knowledge or interest in guns, hunting, codes, bombs, etc.

In the Ted section I would advise looking in particular at two threads to answer your question. One is called something like "Kaczynski and Zodiac: Shared Words, Phrases and Handwriting", and the other is called "Facts and Evidence Ted Kaczynski as Zodiac ".

We also have sections for each of the confirmed victims and most of the possible victims like Bates, Domingos & Edwards, etc. Also sections on the codes, the confirmed letters and unconfirmed letters. The owner of this site, Morf, and myself, were able to do FOIA’s and obtain some previously unreleased possible but unconfirmed Zodiac letters. And Morf was able to obtain a huge file of Zodiac material from the FBI, much of which was never released before.

Kim, I think you are a complete fraud. If you were indeed a detective, you know that the suspect can’t be in two places at the same time. Rader was in the military in Japan, and couldn’t possibly have sneaked over across the ocean to California for the four attacks and eleven mailings. I think when you made that post stating you didn’t write the book for money, that was obviously a bald-faced lie. I suspect you are donating the profits from the book to your favorite charity—your personal bank account.

I can’t say for sure who Z was, but I would think, whomever z was had to be tied to CA as an absolute bare minimum. To write a book about a suspect who you can’t even connect to CA during the Z crimes is pretty lame. Again Kim, nothing personal, but we are brutally honest here, especially after a series of bad books written about this case

The reason I posted the Napa Sketch and Rader together is because they are very similar.

:)

Heh – yes. I get that. But this is a matter of principle: You’ve written a book, claiming that you’ve identified the Zodiac killer. Certain standards must be met, if you will. A certain methodology is expected.

What you opted for with the sketches isn’t sound in that regard. It’s a selling point of sorts, not an actually valid point to make in this context. As a former professional you know that sketches are of limited value – you know that a superficial resemblance could be entirely coincidental.

And you also know that the LB sketch depicts a person who could be irrelevant: There is no proof that the man observed by the three girls was Zodiac. The SF sketch, on the other hand, while being just as potentially useless, at the very least depicts the right subject. Yet, you choose to draw the reader’s attention to the least valuable (as evidence) of the two sketches.

Just an observation – and no offense intended. As others have said, you seem like a nice person, and you’ve certainly been a good sport about all of this in this thread.
