Well, let’s just say that no suspect was ever cleared due to their lack of Welsh ancestry.

I properly laughed.
I just google imaged on "welsh miner" and most of the pictures it found come out in black and white! How is that for an oddity.
However, more seriously, do the modern welsh consider the ancient Celtic/Gaelic alphabet (18 letters) to be significant in any kind of way?
By the way I meant "in any kind of way" to include history, geography, literature, etc. What ever uses the 18-letter alphabet, plaques on buildings, roads, authors, musicians, anything.
It is interesting because all of the 18 letters of "ebeor i ete me th peti" are part of this alphabet. Zodiac used nine of the eighteen available letters.

There was no ancient Celtic or Welsh ancient written language, it was an oral tradition. The Romans brought written language and their alphabet. That said, Welsh people still speak Welsh (or Cymraeg), a very beautiful sounding language, which is part of the Celtic/Britonnic tradition, yet distinct from Gaelic (Irish/Scottish), Breton and Cornish. In modern times Welsh is written in the Roman alphabet.
Fouke’s description seems to relate to the appearance of his Welsh ancestors, so it’s a very subjective account. Like so much of what he says, it’s more confusing than anything.
Correct on all counts. I misused the word ancient obviously.
According to omniglot.com, and general Wikipedia knowledge, in more recent times, these are the numbers of letters in the alphabets for that general region, in which "welsh" is included.
Irish alphabet 18 letters
Ogham alphabet: 18 letters
Scottish Gaelic alphabet: 18 letters
Bardic Alphabet: 20 letters
Cornish alphabet: 23 letters
Manx alphabet: 24 letters
Breton alphabet: 25 letters
Welsh Braille alphabet: 27 letters
Welsh alphabet: 28 letters
In terms of Zodiac message structure (not content), I am interested in groups of three, for example factors of 3, etc. that are noticeable in his thought structure.
So there are five alphabets listed here that match my criteria.

Can you explain this to me, I’m genuinely interested in the significance? Do you mean like splitting the code into three parts?
Splitting a message in three parts is certainly a group of three. There are many other such structures in Zodiac’s communications that will need to be listed.
Also of interest are larger numbers he used where 3 is a factor of a larger number. For example, 408, 390, 18.
On that last number, 18, I wonder why no one ever calls it "Z18". It is after all a separate cipher of sorts, albeit embedded in the 408.

Well observed. I was listening to Morf discuss his freemason POI on a podcast today, I remembered that the number 3 has great significance in masonic symbolism (for example most rites have three degrees or ranks, and the triangle also features heavily in their iconography). Zodiac also killed couples, so the crimes involved a triumvirate of people, a male, female and him their killer.

It sounds like the guy was a well dressed adult man with darker thicker hair. When this darker hair is applyed to
the poster sketch,s of the Zodiac. it does change his appearance. the black and white sketch made his hair look Blond.
It was seen by others to be darker hair. And with the darker pants and jacket, the word that came to His mind was Welsh.
IIRC Flouke told me that the Welsh ancestry thing came from the fact that the guy reminded him of Welsh miners. I recall an article from the NYT Magazine from like 2000 that showed a lot of Welsh people and they all had reddish brown hair.

THIS iMAGE of a Welsh Gentleman is good when compared to the Poster Sketch. The Zodiac was a much Young Man with The brownish red darker hair
When looking at the Poster Sketch the forehead and his eyes look right also his chin and jawline look very close. And the same overall body type.
Just finished viewing The Zodiac Serial Killer Documentary. Lots of interesting archive footage in there!
There’s even a first hand witness who states that Zodiac’s hair colour was "jet black". (That would be a Chinese or even South American indigenous trait)
I picked up a few more occurrences of groups and factors of 3 as well. I noticed that the Carmen Ghia’s license plate, 4U-2040, is divisible by three. So is the Yellow Cab Co’s cab number, #912.
As if Zodiac’s killer switch flipped when he saw numbers related to 3.
I don’t think Fouke ever commented on Zodiac’s nose. Just the hairline and the chin, along with the man he saw being heavier and older than the composite.
The only witness who ever said anything about jet black hair was Michael Mageau in the 2007 documentary, and he was plainly manifesting physical and mental difficulties at that point in his life. His original description in 1969: "short curly hair, light brown, almost blond."
