IF these 1955 letters were by Zodiac, the next question would be why did he choose to sign off with the name Friar Puck? Associated with Catholicism? Into art? College studies?

Or a fan of this show. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0506327/

You can get a very rude spoonerism from "Friar Puck".

Sounds like Zodiacs weird sense of humor and something he will do and his word play.

Not sure if I mentioned, but a production of The Mikado was playing in the area around this time. I think I read there were 2 shows in Napa, and one at the high school in St. Helena in April. The Mikado letter was written in May, which leads me to guess the letter was in some way related to the production. This thought process led me to looking up names of those in involved. I’m still researching that. One young man by the name of Robert (Bob) Lilienthal from Yountville played the piano, but no not that Robert Lilienthal. And no relation as far as I can tell. Still more digging to do.

There was a Zee Ann who was part of the behind the scenes crew of The local Mikado production. Searching through the old newspapers, looks like there was a Zee Ann Lauderdale (Peterson) and Zee Ann Gibson. Maybe 2 different people. Not sure which one, if either one, was the Zee Ann involved with the Mikado, yet.

Edit: I believe Zee Ann Lauderdale is the one who worked on the Mikado.

Here are a few pieces I found in The St. Helena Star from April, 1955, right around the same time that the letter to the editor was published.

So, some age landmarks, roughly:

St. Helena, 1956, 17
Joyce Walker, 1964, 25
Zodiac, 1968-9, 29-30.

The name Bob Lilienthal jumps out at me! Is he a relative of the one who Lived in SF near where Zodiac was last seen on Oct 69?

That one also has a connection to the Haas Lilienthal house in SF. He was looked at in connection to the Oakland A’s tickets sent to the couple in Vallejo by Zodiac. There is a thread about that on this site.

The name Bob was one of the names that Darlene’s babysitter said she remembered Darlene mentioning. She also said could have been the name Bill.

We need to look into that piano player, he would have known the words in the "I’ve got little list" sent by Zodiac. One of my suspects played the piano,he is the one I call Honcho.

I looked for a connection to this Bob Lilienthal but did not immediately find one. But it was just a brief, quick search, so I haven’t ruled out a connection yet. We definitely need to look into that more!

The timeline is helpful. Thank you! If the St. Helena letters are Zodiac’s, he is younger than what I always thought.

If he was 17 in 1955 that makes him 31 in 1969 which is perfect for who I saw in Vallejo in 1968 whom I said looked to be 30 at that time.

I do believe Zodiac was born in 1938 and the 3-8’s in the cipher were a clue to his birth yr.

However in a note given to me by the person who claims to be Zodiac, he told me the number 1 person was in his 40’s in 1969. Who was number 1, I have no idea?

He could have been in the Mikado in St Helena at that age how old was the piano player?

I think he was born in 1935, but I will double check that soon. He lived in Yountville. I eventually want to go through all the names of the cast. I think the paper said there were about 30 cast members, maybe. And the behind the scenes people. And any school staff involved with the production. A male co-director, for example, was a school counselor at Napa. His yearbook info says he enjoyed solving puzzles. Although, he would be too old to be Zodiac and doesn’t look like the descriptions.
