I had a look through the Napa posts you have made thus far. I didn’t see anything strikingly Z. I will admit though it was interesting to do a search on the people who wrote letters. Found one guy who lived an hour south of Cheri, went to school about an hour north of her for law, became a lawyer at the start of ’69 and was then suspended from practing law at the start of ’70 for associating with drug dealers and traffickers. He wrote hot and heavy to the editors. I can only imagine that maybe the press had advertised his dealings?? Interesting.

I think that’s from the SF Chronicle, May 16, 1968.

That letter was written by H. Vernor Dixon, a crime author and dancer, who headlined with RKO. Wasn’t there a Z connection to RKO?

That one was published back in 1935. If he was, say, 20 at that time, he would have been 53 years old in 1968.
