I haven’t seriously considered the possibility that Z participated in MKUltra, but it wouldn’t be surprising given Ted K’s history in psychological experiments. Ted K maintains that the experiments held little bearing in his murder plans, but I find that hard to believe because they were designed to be psychologically damaging and abusive, and frankly, they sound like they were torture. Anyone could become a psychopath after abuse like that.

The newspaper ads are definitely similar to those used by spies and governments to covertly communicate during the early 20th century (and probably later), but whether Z was formally trained in this, simply read about it somewhere, or if he even took out the ads is a mystery, though I believe he did.

I sway towards Z experiencing at least a little psychosis when he took out the ads, with him starring as player in a story that existed only in his own head, with Z being a character, or a villain really, and the red phantom another, Belli, the police, and others also playing their roles. There’s many weird communications potentially from Z, and this explanation is the only one I’ve found covers them all. All I know for sure is that Z was a weird guy. Costumes, characters, comic books, bombs… Z was definitely weird, and possibly crazy.

If I saw some real evidence of government involvement, I would be really interested in the MKUltra theory.

This message has always intrigued me.

I noticed, that if we exactly exclude the word ZODIAC", the message WITHOUT spaces & ponctuation ,can be divided into 6 lines with 17 columns each (number used in the two main codes that the Zodiac sent, 340 and 408)
