I am a bartender at a pretty popular Ma & Pa bar and grill in downtown Sacramento. The other day, one of the regulars came in and I noticed that he had a California DOJ card key. So, I waiting until he got a nice buzz going and I asked him: "so tell me about that Zodiac Killer letter you guys have under lock and key at your work’"? He was surprised that I knew about it and told me that he knew the whereabouts of the letter. I then offered him a week of free whiskey and beer if he got me a copy of it. He looked at me for a few seconds and then told me "hell no"! So, there is my attempt to help the solve the case!
Lmao. I love it.

Very interesting to know there must be a letter that has not been released to the public!
Tight git..you should have offered him 2 weeks.
Potential documentation unreleased to public may require free alcohol for the life of his ma & pa employment.

Excellent effort!! Continue to schmooze the guy, you might gain his trust over time. If he even just tells you the contents it will be more than we know now.
Maybe it’s the alleged ZODIAC’S SECRET "DMV" LETTER ?

"While I don’t yet have as many details as I would like, at some point the Zodiac wrote a letter to the chairman of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in California. The letter was authenticated, apparently via handwriting, and was kept quiet for reasons unknown."
And here is a copy of a post I posted on our forum back in Oct 12, 2013
Note the email where Tom V stated that he "was allowed to photograph the DMV letter" and "which is definitely a Zodiac letter IMHO" :

I did some research and found on zodiackillerfacts.com some info that seems to be about the DMV letter info in question.
It seems to be an email Tom V supposely have sent June 26, 2010 to somone (does not say who), where Tom V is saying that he has just returned from San Francisco and that he had been to City Hall and was alowed to photograph the DMV letter.
Here is a copy of the email + a link to where it was posted
(I only post a quote from the email, the part about the DMV letter, the rest you can read in the link) :http://www.zodiackillerfacts.com/forum/ … f=96&t=905

Subject: Greetingz from Zan FranziscoJust a quick update. My San Francisco trip has been amazing. I just got back from the Hall of Justice where I was allowed to photograph the DMV letter, which is definitely a Zodiac letter IMHO. Was also allowed to copy a bunch of police reports from late 1969.
Now, wheter this is true or not, I dont know.
Now why Tom V in June 26, 2010 is saying he got a photo of the alleged DMV letter and then keep on postings as if he does not have it but are waiting/hoping to get hold of it? well I have no idea?
And what about the copies he got of "a bunch of police reports from late 1969" why not share them? or did he share them anyone knows?
Seagull do you know any answers to my questions?
Hi, english is not my first language so please bear with me
Copy of post I Posted on Zodiackiller.com back in July 15, 2010 :
The DMV address in San Francisco in 1970 was :
Department of Motor Vehicles (1970)
1377 Fell St, San Francisco, CA 94117That is about 2000 feet from Paul Stines address:
Paul Stine
1842 Fell St, San Francisco, CAAnd the same distance to "Good Times" :
Good Times "switchboard"
1830 Fell St, San Francisco, CABut of course I don´t know if it was that particular DMV office the letter was sent to.

Nice try, StoogeDeluxe.
As for TV taking a photo of the letter, maybe he got a bad shot, nothing you could read from? I’m thinking he didn’t use his phone camera, if it was 2010 (I’m assuming no one has seen the photo – ?)
Maybe it’s the alleged ZODIAC’S SECRET "DMV" LETTER ?

TF the only thing I know is what Tom has written on his forum. Apparently there was someone who was going to give Tom a copy of the letter but that person got in trouble over something completely unrelated to Zodiac at about the same time Tom was to get the copy. That person lost their job and any hope of getting a copy went down the drain.
I just heard from Tom regarding TF’s post with the quotes. This is what he has to say.

Just because that Guy works for the DOJ, how do we know that he even know what they have or do not have regarding Zodiac? Just because he works there, does not mean he handles anything related to Z. Also, the DOJ is no longer even handling the Z case, only assisting Napa,Vallejo, etc with lab work, ballistics, etc
There is more than one way to lose your life to a killer

Wow. That guy… nevermind. I will keep my opinion to myself this time.
A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….

Thanks Seagull
IMHO Tom V does not directly deny that he wrote that email, he is just stating his opinion that zodiackillerfacts.com and Mike Butterfield can’t be trusted.
So, I am still not convinced that he didn’t write that email.

TF, I am on Tom’s info@zodiackiller mass mailing list. I save all emails. I checked back to see what I received from Tom on that date. I did not receive an email about photographing the DMV letter but I did receive an email on that date with Tom saying that he had been allowed to photograph the basement where the Good Times commune prepared the newspaper.
That’s all I know for sure!
