My recollection is that the ABC special prominently displays the envelopes for the July 31st/Z480 letters when they tout Holt’s big "hit" (I paused the video to study them, but that was five or six months ago, and I’ve aged 350 years since then). And that these had been recently recovered from a retired detective.
There was a mention of something promising from the Pen card, but no follow-up. Stine had the hair on the stamp, but no DNA.
For what it’s worth, the July 31st letters, 2nd VHT letter, Citizen & RP have no "custody" listed on the leaked checksheet (and SLA is not mentioned at all), and that checksheet predated Holt’s work.

What check sheet are you referring to?
FYI, I posted about an old newspaper article regarding the 2007 DNA tests a long time ago and never got a response. I simply wanted to know which letters were tested. (Still not sure why the VPD detective in that article was being so coy about it.) The "Sam" files confirmed my suspicion that the letters in question were the July 31st/Z408 letters.
ABC claimed to have found these in 2002, and that this was where Holt got her fabled DNA hit… from a letter that had been taken by home by a detective.

Tom–any suggestions on how to find it easier from your main site when searching there?
Yeah, I did try to look for the link but eventually gave up, LOL. (Which is weird because I easily found it just a couple weeks ago.)

I used the ZSearch feature on the main page of the site with keywords sfpd dna report and it came up second.
^^Thanks for pointing that out Tom…don’t know if I’ve ever used (or noticed ) that feature!
