Sounds like teasing to me , and it got out of hand , police involved .
the zodiac was very scary in the begining ,but then became a thing to joke around about later.
the A’s were in KC until 1968.
I and a lot of people didn’t care that much for the new team at first .

In the un-redacted BRS reports, for 6/19/70, there is mention of a Couple at 1423 Roleen Dr receiving a letter, and 2 Oakland A’s tickets. The letter read ‘gift from Zodiac’. The tickets were for the 6/20/70 Game. The letter had been postmarked 6/18/70 from Vallejo(A Thursday). The Officer tagged it into evidence, and requested that the Couple contact an investigator. I don’t see any outcome, but I seem to recall a mention of this incident in the most recent FBI pages released under the Freedom of info act,but I can’t find it. Anybody remember this? The Officer noted some similarity to Zodiac’s writing in the report.

A couple things worth noting:

*If this is a real Z letter, it’s postmarked on a Thursday in Vallejo, out of the norm for Zodiac.

*The Street, ROLEEN DR, was the street that Darlene’s Friend lived many years on(at 521, although I am not sure they lived there at the time of this letter)

*The couple could not think of anybody who would play a joke on them, or have any reason to mail them tickets.

*The male who received the letter, worked at Mare Island Shipyard, as an Electrician.

Assuming for a second this could be a real Z letter, I would doubt that Z would randomly pick this couple out. Perhaps he was a Friend, co-worker, neighbor, etc? Maybe Z would get a kick out of seeing the police question his Neighbor, or if he was a co-worker, maybe he would get his jollies hearing his co-worker tell his story of getting the tickets. It may be worth exploring.

So, does anybody remember if there were details of this in the latest FBI release, and does that street sound familiar to anbody as far as Zodiac goes??? By the way, I know the name of the couple that received the letter

I am working on getting a copy of this letter about the A’s tickets, not sure if I will be able to do so with certainty, or how long it will take, but fingers are crossed

"A is A." –Ayn Rand

""WISHING WON’T MAKE IT SO"

Ayn Rand’s philosophy, Objectivism, begins by embracing the basic fact that existence exists. Reality is, and in the quest to live we must discover reality’s nature and learn to act successfully in it.

To exist is to be something, to possess a specific identity. This is the Law of Identity: A is A. Facts are facts, independent of any consciousness. No amount of passionate wishing, desperate longing or hopeful pleading can alter the facts. Nor will ignoring or evading the facts erase them: the facts remain, immutable.

In Rand’s philosophy, reality is not to be rewritten or escaped, but, solemnly and proudly, faced. One of her favorite sayings is Francis Bacon’s: “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed.”

Reality — that which exists — has no alternatives, no competitors, nothing “transcending” it. To embrace existence is to reject all notions of the supernatural and the mystical, including God."

From www.AynRand.org

Kind regards,

"A" Citizen

LHR_-_SCSO_Report_46_-_Redacted.jpg

I don’t know if this copy of the report will–copy. It doesn’t seem to. It’s from zodiac killer facts.com LHR page 46.

And it may not belong here except that it also involved someone in Benicia reporting suspicious behavior.

I’ll look into this on Ancestry this weekend.

One theory I had, assuming this letter could really have come from Z, is that Z may have lived close to them and would get a kick out of watching the police come to their house, etc. Another theory, maybe Z could have worked with the Guy,and had a beef with him and wanted to scare him. I really want to see the letter, and the handwriting,so I hope we can get this released.

I wrote to this Couple, they never responded.

Gerald’s obituary: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesh … &fhid=3836

Oct. 18, 1938 – Aug. 6, 2007
Gerald Tagert passed away on Monday from heart failure at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara, and his three sons, Dave of Port Orchard, Wash., Greg and wife Mary of Vacaville and Chris and wife Kristy of Roseville; his brother, Ron Tagert and wife Barbara of Hawaii; sister, Barbara Stahle of Texas; and grandchildren, Jaqueline (25), Angela (24), Ben (20), Josh (18), Sam (16), Elaine (11), Chase (10), Kody (7) and Riley (3).
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Renee Tagert.
Gerald was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Junction, Texas, was raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and moved to California in 1967, where he worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as an electrician. After retiring in 1994, Gerald became a Realtor to work with his wife Barbara. The two have resided in Vacaville for the past 33 years.
Gerald (a die-hard Cowboy fan) lived a good life. He loved his friends and was devoted to his family. His grandkids were his true joy. They called him "Pap."
As a family, they took annual trips to Disneyland to celebrate their anniversary, rented a cabin at Donner Lake and went camping in his RV. He often got away with just his wife on their annual trips to Hawaii.
