Does anybody remember any clues, theories,leads,etc that may have pointed to Zodiac in Hawaii?? I recall the guy that allegedly found the bag of ciphers etc under a bridge in Hawaii, anybody recall what the outcome was??

That was M** D* Br who claimed that he had found the satchel with the "Zodiac’s" diary in it , full of codes.
He claimed that he found it in the late 90’s ( I think) in Honolulu and it was property of ANOTHER man named M D* Br ( same name as his) and that they had both known each other from San Francisco and their theatrical work with the Gilbert & Sullivan troupe, The SF Lamplighters.
Problem is, under scrutiny, there was no "Second " MDB ( his name was slightly different), the man he claimed was Z was a Black Aboriginal from Australia/UK who died in 1981, nowhere near Hawaii.
MDB then posted some pretty suspicious , and IMHO, incriminating posts, pictures and diatribes as "Zoa" and refused any and all requests to discuss his "suspect" whom I suspect, 
is really himself.
I had SOME initial contact with him and then …..nothing. Ricardo or someone else may have also had some contact with MDB, whom I believe is back on the mainland, possibly in California.

Weren’t some of that dude’s code pages posted at some point, and didn’t look like Z’s work. Thanks IBF for the recollections, that all was a bit confusing at the time.
Anyway, as far as Hawaii: The TV crime show Hawaii Five-0 debuted in late 1968, just months prior to LHR. Jack Lord played Steve McGarret, star of the show. The Zodiac was KoKo Lord High Executioner from the Mikado.
You can’t make this stuff up. Or can you?

Been trying to find more about this guy for ages but have come up with nothing. Having read his various cryptic internet posts over the last decade or so, I’m extremely suspicious of him. Definitely has mental issues (multiple personality disorder?) and likes to hover around the Zodiac case seeking attention using a number of aliases (pretty much like the real Z). Would love to check his height, see his handwriting or a pic of him from the Z era, etc.

Well that’s an interesting take, IBF. Incriminating a suspect by the same name as yourself raised some red flags for me as well. Some of the code/ciphers found WERE posted and really didn’t resemble Z’s ciphers, IMHO, other than the fact that they were… coded. I found his suspect’s background interesting… would have been far more interesting if ANYONE described Zodiac as black. :afro:
I never looked into his suspect closely but it would certainly be odd if he changed his suspect’s name to match his own. I get where you’re going with the pics as well but keep in mind that there are are untold numbers of folks out there who would relish the idea of us thinking that they were the Zodiac Killer.

It’s definitely a very valid point that there are going to be a pile of weirdos out there (or even just jokers with too much time on their hands) that would love people to think they might actually be the legendary Zodiac and this guy could be another of those. He’s pretty much given enough clues to lead people into thinking he could be Z without actually giving us anything at all that could incriminate him (if that makes sense). Possibly very cunning if he was indeed Z and wanted to boast without giving anything away that could trap him. I personally think Z was up to this sort of thing when he mentioned that he’d killed a man in a car with a .38. I really think he might have been alluding to the fact that he shot Radetich but was in no way going to actually admit to being a cop killer. Curiously, some people reported a black guy leaving the area immediately after that crime… :afro:
Due to this POI being obsessed that an aboriginal guy by the same name as himself was Z, I could really imagine this POI suffering from some multiple personality disorder where he thinks a black version of himself is doing the killing (or forcing him to do it). Perhaps he thought this same guy was watching him confess after BRS? (Z mentioned that a shabbily dressed negro grassed on him). Perhaps he heard that a black guy was seen in the area of the Radetich shooting and this just fed his mental disorder/paranoia. Wasn’t there also a strange confession from someone saying they were the Zodiac and were 200lbs, black and beautiful? Probably all very crazy sounding but I think Z had serious mental issues and anything is possible, even more so if he was maybe dropping acid too.
I’d probably just file this MDB guy as some random nutjob who is a wannabe but the fact he was based at the Presidio in 1969 (seemingly with security clearances) and appears to physically match Z to a tee, does make you wonder a little and if there was indeed a black MDB who played Koko in San Francisco at the time, then this is one hell of a lot of coincidences. I feel the only chance of actually catching Z would be if he was somehow still alive and caught himself by using technology that he is not up to speed with – like in BTK’s case where he couldn’t resist coming back after a few decades only to unwittingly leave his ID digitally imprinted on a floppy disk. Someone on one message board said that MDB was from Riverside and I know that Morf found an MDB with links to Vallejo. Could be different guys but if we could somehow tie this guy to these places then he would get a whole lot more interesting as a POI. From his internet footsteps, he certainly seems to be an avid outdoorsman who likes to move between states a lot.

I know what this man calls himself, but has anybody verifed this man’s name is real? I also recall that he supposedly was from Vallejo,is that true?

Mr. Brown is clearly advocating for a multiple Z concept there. His aboriginal doppelganger was apparently involved with the Diggers in San Francisco, who adopted a kind of collective identity in doing their thing. Mr. Brown also used a screen name of Emmet(t) on Zkiller.com, which stimulated my interest and led to a brief correspondence with him. He told me, based on my fascination with the Diggers, that I was "closest to getting it" or something to that effect. Not suggesting any of that is relevant but your info. helped me to understand where he was coming from.

Yes. Unless he means the car, which is highly unlikely but I include the possibility for the benefit of Norse, if you read the sentence carefully, he means the victim had a gun. In other words, he hunted a hunter (the most dangerous game). It doesn’t matter if he wrongly identified the caliber of gun. He didn’t mean his. Just my take.

That link- The Opperman Report, that guy believes the Illuminati is running the earth. And Hodel, I don’t know anyone worth their salt who buys Steve Hodel’s theories. Even the Black Dahlia, I think Walter Bayley is a shoe-in for that and Steve Hodel is just grasping at straws.
