IMO its garbage. It ends with MY NAME LEIGH ALLEN and has no scientific method to its solution.

It’s bull-dinky. He’s a big fan of Graysmith and, low and behold, he finds "My Name is Leigh Allen," using a Virgin Island area code that didn’t appear until 1997.

Hahaha! You think the reporter would have figured the area code thing out. Good catch rand!

Doranchak, a member at ZKF and also a member here, has done a detailed examination of this "solution" and it finds it to be complete nonsense. The "solver" just used whatever shifts he needed to get the letters he wanted, he did not even stick to his aleady silly 340 system, he would use a 7 or 8 or whatever he needed. Doing that one can make the code say whatever you want it to.

I thank Doranchak for soing this service of exposing a hoax, perhaps a well meaning effort, but a hoax nonetheless. I hope the media picks up on it. Please spread this link to other sites.

And I invite Doranchak to apply the same examination to my work on the unsolved 18 and check to see if I use anything other than the 18 letters the Harden’s produced, if I used anything other than a 0-3-6-9 shift, if there are the patterns I claim and his overall opinion.

Had a look at it and decided to archive this so called solution next to those presented by Mr. Farmer

Took you that long, eh?

Here is a link to a follow up article in which Corey Starliper responds to the criticism:

So called solution:

KILL/SLF/DR/HELP/ME/KILL/MYSELF/GAS/CHAMBER
/AEIOUR/DAYS/QUESTIONSABLE/EVERYY/WAKING
/MOMENT/IM/ALIVE/MY/PRIDE/LOST/I/CANT/GO
/ON/LIVING/IN/THIS/WAY/KILLING/PEOPLE/I/HAV/KILLD
/SO/MANY/PEOPLE/CANT/HELP/MYSELF/IM/SO/ANGRY
/I/COULD/DO/MY/THING/IM/ALONE/IN/THIS/WORLD
/MY/WHOLE/LIFE/FUL/O/LIES/IM/UNABLE/TO/STOP
/BY/THE/TIME/YOU/SOLVE/THIS/I/WILL/HAV/KILLD
/ELEVEN/PEOPLE/PLEASE/HELP/ME/STOP/KILLING/PEOPLE
/PLEASE/MY/NAME/IS/LEIGH/ALLEN/

————————————————

Thanks for posting that Ricardo.

Oranchak exposes the methods used at the link I posted above.

Also, this kid used the Virgin Islands area code as his Cipher Key, a numerical pattern to act as Gronsfeld Cipher key.

First, only pure speculation connects Zodiac to a crime in the Virgin Islands. No proof. Nothing.

Second, as Rand and others have pointed out, the area code he used was not invented until the 1990’s!

Maybe Zodiac was psychic too…

And it looks like Corey is posting under the comments section.

Don’t you think if Z was really as desperate for help as he claims to be, he could have simply turned himself in?
That is one reason why I think all this letter writing with codes and references to a list, the "bomb" that didn’t go off and all the rest was just his attempt for publicity and he was getting as much excitement from seeing the people of San Francisco terrified as he was his individual victims.

It is too bad the SF Chronicle didn’t give him the coverage he wanted as he could have been caught or a surrender worked out. The mental patient who called Belli could have been prematurely dismissed imo. Too bad he wasn’t checked out.

Can it be that they guy’s code cracking attempt was driven by the "Suspect Zero" movie (area codes) and a vintage ALA suspect theory?
