BTW the Railway Killer’s name is spelled "Angel Maturino Resendez" in this book. But I think he was born in 1959 which would make him too young during Z’s heyday.

Hmm… Interesting idea on a couple of levels. I remember the Floyd Anderson reference but need to read further. Possible misdirection? Absolutely. By memory, Angel Resendez, the Railway Killer, was considered a serious POI for Jacob Allen, who "BTK" claimed as a victim after he was tied to railroad tracks and run over by a train. I honestly wonder whether Roger Valadez wasn’t an intentional victim of BTK’s intentional misdirection.

Would Zodiac love the same kind of misdirection? Of course, IMO. Would he have done it through an ambiguous cipher like the My Name Is… cipher? Not convinced…

Resendes, with the S at the end is a Portuguese name. The Portuguese by definition are considered white European.

Resendez, with the Z at the end is an Hispanic name.

The two names are not really interchangeable.

I was sure Z was Canadian. Admittedly, I didn’t figure on the Japanese angle, but it makes perfecr sense!! That’s the Mikado connection.

I am a firm believer that Zodiac did not use his real name, and have been waiting for something like this. A possible name to pop up that he may have tried to set up. If Eddie Resendes or Rezendes was the guy in that pic, maybe Zodiac had it out for him for whatever reason. Did anyone ever look into the Resendes/Rezendes name any further?

I apologise in advance for only having come onto this thread to say that upon my initial reading of the thread’s Subject and because my sense of humour is akin to that of a 5 year old, this I found highly amusing! Did Sarah the Horse have a criminal association with a Robert the Doll by any chance? Robert the Doll is now incarcerated in Key West down in Florida. Robert even has a wiki page written about himself!
