Hi Everybody,
Thank you very much for the help. I visited and submitted by sleuths to the San Francisco Police Department yesterday (for 5 hours no less!)
They seemed just as interested in why I had so many old papers around as my explanation of the cipher ha ha
I can say that they are taking it very seriously and said that it was an exciting development. I’m due for a phone call later today from some big wig detectives (they think that some of the other newspapers might also be of use)
They have also asked me to keep a lid on it whilst they investigate because it could potentially jeopardize the investigation. So I will remove this Reddit.
Once again I am extremely grateful for the help I have received. It is very warming.

Why do people even do this? I kind of get the whole grandpa was Zodiac thing but something completely anonymous like this just seems like something that takes way more time to come up with compared to the attention received.
