Not much info on this, but pretty cool.
A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….
I’m a gamer, but not sure how I feel about this one! Guess we’ll see how it plays out.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate you can play as (and also defeat…which was gratifying) Jack-the-Ripper. It was actually a pretty good, detailed history lesson. I was surprised!
The first game was about a hacker in future Chicago taking control of cars, ATMs, video cameras, cell phones, etc.. It doesn’t make much sense for the sequel to be about 70’s SF. What’s he going to do, mess around with some punch cards? Or is the Zodiac supposed to be about 110 years old?
It’s a bonus mission, apparently, and the plot is that the Zodiac Killer returns (in some shape or form) after fifty years – so it’s not a 1970s San Francisco setting.
Given the wording, it could be a twist of some kind: An unwanted ghost from the past returns…perhaps it’s not Zodiac, as an old geezer, but someone impersonating him, or…well, could be anything, really.
Dumb idea for a sequel to a game that no one liked, but it could be interesting to incorporate his ciphers in some way. That’s the only thing that sort of makes sense to have him in a hacker scenario, but they probably won’t go for that.

Hey, maybe they used the real ciphers and some 8 year old whiz kid will crack ’em.
Speaking of games, I just realized this:
The PH neighborhood in San Francisco is actually featured as part of the game map in the classic game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It’s part of “San Fierro” (San Francisco’s fictional counterpart in the game).
Pretty cool, actually. The remake is based fairly accurately on the real city (though not entirely, of course) – which goes for the Las Vegas and Los Angeles counterparts too.

Wow, I’m gonna have to play that game again. Pretty sure I have it for the 360. It would be cool to see the homes of William Thoresen and Kjell Qvale!

Yeah, in GTA:SA you can visit fishermans warf and the transmerica building and other SF landmarks. I don’t know if they got it down to specific houses, tho.

I don’t think so – private homes and such are pretty generic, I think, though the style should be roughly similar to the originals.
But the layout of the neighborhoods is more or less right.
I believe PH is called "Pacific Heights" in the game.
I haven’t played San Andreas in years, I don’t really remember much about it other than I got close to the end of the game and then couldn’t pass a mission where you had to stop a guy from jumping off some building in Vegas or something like that.
Anyone play GTA V on the ps3?

Yeah, I remember that one. Trick was to kill the guy practically before the whole thing started, as I recall. You could snipe him from afar – somewhere out in the desert.
Anyway, GTA V was good fun – well worth a spin. They’ve become progressively easier, though. Much easier to stay alive in the later versions, not least. Some of the Vice City missions were actually hard – plus, you didn’t have check points or any of that fancy, new fangled stuff, so you had to start all over again when you died. Could be really infuriating.
