Anybody see the SUN article linked in the Drudge Report about the boy in the UK who had a Zodiac symbol show up on the skin on his chest? They say it looks like the sign of Mammon. I never heard that before.

I saw that in the paper whilst waiting on my take-away. It’s obviously a concentric crosshair design. A design that is featured on many kids t-shirts so I would suggest that he is allergic to whatever ink/transfer/dye was used. I didn’t read the article but I see on the page Dave linked to people are suggesting a hairdryer burn, I think it’s a bit too fine & even for that (retro as well) and I’m sure the kid would have remembered that anyway.

Ha ha, can’t believe I’m commenting on this like it’s important but hey … whatever lol.

Can’t say I’ve heard of the ‘Sign of Mammon’ either. Mammon yes but I had to google the ‘sign’ bit. It appears to be this they are referring to.

Michael Z Gordon worked on a 1968 movie called "The Name of the Game is Kill" with Gary Crutcher. Crutcher wrote "House of Zodiac" which I believe was written in 1967 or 1968 and the main character was called… the Zodiac Killer. There is a thread on this, but thought I would mention it here as well. There is some Zynchronicity with Crutcher, but I’m not going to post anything about him that I haven’t posted on him already. After talking to him, he weirds me out!!

Gordon’s band was signed to Imperial Records. He was a thoroughbred breeder and worked in real estate. I did a lot of research on him and even talked to him a little bit and he is not Z. He’s a really nice guy, actually. And has worked in movies and music for over 50 years. Just thought I would post for the Zynchronicity.

Apparently Zodiac wasn’t the only one who did this.

Michael Butterfield stated in an article that Z´s "electric gun sight" might have been influenced by an episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" titled "Museum Price". Well, I recently got interested on Hitchcock´s work and so I decided to watch some of his movies. And if you see the movie "The Wrong Man", you will see that Hitchcock makes an intro of it, something that I think he did not do in his other movies. And how does Hitchcock starts his presentation? By saying "This is Alfred Hitchcock speaking", just like Z started his letters.

Not only that, Hitchcock states in the intro that the movie his based on a true story that has elements which are stranger fiction – well, isn´t that a good description of the case of the Zodiac?

The main character of the movie "The Wrong Man" – a man called Manny – is wrongfully arrested as a suspect in a robbery case. The reason why law enforcement decided to charge him for the robbery was because just like the note left by the real burgler, Manny made a mispelling in a handwriting sample by writing the word "draw" instead of correctly writing "drawer". Who also made mispelings in his writings? – Zodiac. Could this movie have influenced Zodiac – could he have deliberately made misspelings in order to draw attentions to a wrong suspect, who could have made simmilar errors (just like what happened to the character Manny in the movie)? Does this prove Zodiac was into Alfred Hitchcock´s works?

Googling around shows that Hitch said "This is Alfred Hitchcock speaking" at least a few times. Once in an episode of his TV show, where he appeared with a St. Bernard. I agree that there’s probably something to it. It’s hard to say what his intentions truly were, but the Hitchcock angle fits better than the old ham radio theory.

Hitch also said "This is Alfred Hitchcock speaking" was in the preface of the books "12 Stories They Wouldn´t Let Me Do On TV" and "13 More Stories They Wouldn´t Let Me Do On TV". I really do believe there is something to it, with this and the "circle of light" of the "Museum Price" episode.

Ok. Time to post my own Zychronicity. It’s a coincidence that is meaningful only to me, and I realize that completely. I wouldn’t normally share something so personal, but since a couple thousand strangers read this every day, why not? One of my pet theories is that Zodiac was heavily influenced by infamous serial murderers covered by the media during his childhood. He may have felt fear himself; he certainly was aware of the how the killers horrified the masses.

From the Phantom Killer in Texarkana, the hood. From Jack the Ripper, the letters to the newspapers. And from the Black Dahlia, sending items from the victim to the newspaper. So a few weeks ago I was watching a documentary on Elizabeth Short (the Black Dahlia for those who don’t know) and it mentioned that her estranged father, Cleo Short, was once a suspect in her murder. Considering my theory that Zodiac was heavily influenced by the press surrounding the BD murder, imagine my surprise when the documentary stated that Cleo Short lived in…wait for it…Vallejo, California!

Let me go on record that I don’t think Cleo Short killed his daughter and I definitely don’t think he was the Zodiac, either. Just one of those crazy head scratching coincidences so common to the Zodiac case.

^^Definitely sparks an interest when you hear that for the first time, doesn’t it? From what I remember, she went to visit him there not too long before she was killed.
