Here is an article from Corsair in 1969 mentioning that this editor, Lynda Hayes, also received letters from a source that called themselves "the zodiac".

Two weeks ago, a copy of the Corsair was sent to the Santa Monica branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation—and we know this because it was returned marked "Moved—left no forwarding address." (The FBI now resides in the new Wilshire building.) When the now famous Zodiac murderer first hit the headlines, I received numerous notes threatening general mayhem to my staff and me from an anonymous writer who also called himself "The Zodiac"—fortunately this one proved relatively harmless.
Corsair is the college news paper for Santa Monica College I believe. Any Z connections there?
Interesting find, maybe we can find more, or contact her.

Anyone had a chance to contact her or find anything more related to the articles at all? I haven’t had the opportunity to follow this up at all but if someone else has, please post anything you found.
Ok…so Lynn has replied to my contacting her and I am hoping to get some info about the letters she received, but highly doubt she has any of the letters saved. Either way, if she can remember them at all that would be cool.

Well…..I kind of forgot about this thread until another one popped back up. I did speak with her over the phone once and she does not remember the threat. She is a pretty unstable person and seemed to be highly medicated for pain. I have kept up a bit with her, but the last I heard from her she was on Facebook and she and her husband were about to be homeless as they are both apparently disabled and one of them was denied some type of pay they were getting.
I have not followed up with her anymore on this because I feel like it is sort of small potato’s with what she is apparently dealing with right now….it wasn’t pretty….suicide threats and a lot of crazed ramblings.
I wished her the best and hope she is ok, but I have not heard from her in at least a couple months or so.
