GSK turned out to be an ex-cop who was not on anyone’s radar as being any of VR, EAR, or ONS. The arrest of this guy just totally came out of left-field, so I wondered how people on here are in regard to who the Zodiac might be, will it be the same sort of thing as with GSK (a new person no-one had on their radar) or will it be one of the suspects?
Honestly, the shock I had when I went to Reddit and there was a post form the EARONS sub about how there was going to be a presser, and that they had arrested someone, with a 100% DNA match to the crime scenes, man, it was unreal. And that it came out of nowhere too!
one big difference is there was never a real poi in the ear/ons attacks. it’s like the inverse of zodiac – lots of evidence, no pois. zodiac is not much evidence, tons of pois.
No, but it does take me back to Zodiac being influenced, in some way, by LE. Whether he was an actual cop, wanna-be cop, Dad was a cop…something. Wouldn’t surprise me if (considering people like BTK and GSK) Zodiac was right up that alley.

Agreed, it’s always been my opinion Zodiac could have been someone who wanted to be a cop but wasn’t hired, was a cop who was fired OR passed over for detective and the Zodiac crimes were his way of showing them he’s better than all of those guys.
It’s also possible he just hated cops because of some past arrest.
^^Certainly, but when you consider the false leads, the way he noted things in his letters–like by numeration, the flashlight in the eyes and the way he pulled in behind Mike and Darlene, his knowledge of investigative techniques, etc., it would appear he was more in-tune than just a cop hater. Whatever his involvement, he knew about smoke and mirrors and when Paul Holes speaks of the GSK, he rings Zodiac truths, imo.

Agreed completely. I have to throw in that "hated cops because of a past arrest" because I still ain’t gave up on ALA.

Not be surprised in the least if z is none of the current poi’s (serious)… im still going with the z being from kansas city area and an A’s fan (not so serious)…..

We’ve always known that. I think it shows if they get a good DNA profile they have a good chance at finding Zodiac.

This is an excellent question to ask. There are numerous possibilities. I can definitely see the discovery of somebody who was never a suspect before, or I could see the DNA locking down on somebody like ALA, Richard Gaikowski or Ross Sullivan. With all of the official and unofficial research that has gone into this case, it doesn’t seem likely we’ll get a wild card thrown into the game. So I think probably if the DNA comes through that it’ll point-out ALA, Richard, Ross or one of the usual suspects.
I haven’t given up on GSK being Zodiac. I doubt it, but he’s sure as hell worth giving a good close look see.
