Well Darlene Ferrin had her i.d. out when they found them, so i’m thinking it was a cop or park ranger they trusted or seen pull up. He’s only .31 km away from a state park in the Darlene Ferrin murder and Mageau and 2.92 km from the same state park in the Faraday/Jensen murders. Same here CuriousCat. I’ve been listening to Criminology podcast every night at work and on season 2 Episode 5. A lot of similarities between the 2. Mike and Morf do an EXCELLENT job on describing everything.

I get the feeling zodiac was young and trying to figure out the best way to do his thing. After the Stine murder the killings stopped (that we know of) but he was still sending letters. What better way to have a whole city in fear like GSK did?

If Zodiac was GSK then I think he would have made it clear this was the case, in order to incite that terror and fear. "I’m back…and now I’m burgling houses and raping women".
Regardless of MO, the personalities of the two don’t fit at all. There is a dark comedy and surrealism to Zodiac’s letters (e.g. randomly quoting Gilbert & Sullivan). I just don’t get the same feeling from GSK.

Soze, that’s where Mike Rodelli’s book kicks in! Morf has required Richard Walter’s knowledge in criminal profiling and his take on Zodiac as far as that matter is very, very interesting. I don’t want to say too much because in my opinion, this book doesn’t get all of the publicity it deserves, but I can tell you Z was not in the category of sexual predators.

I do, too. It was clearly personal with CJB. But I do believe Z wrote the letters or was inspired by them.
I still wish they’d check Bud Kelly out in connection to Cheri Jo Bates. That’s assuming they haven’t already of course…
