Ok, this might be something:

– In one of the police reports, there is a witness who had mentioned that he lived at 20, Sandy Beach Road.
– Deana Hooper had disappeared from the ‘Enlisted Men’s Club’ which was close to Sandy Beach Road, too.
– Elaine Lehtinen was a Naval Officer stationed at Mare Island, still missing.
– And finally, Z had shown his maritime ID to Rob. Tarbox.

Now in the report of Bobbie Ramos, a friend of Darlene is mentioned who had been stationed at the ‘Maritime Academy’. Looking this up, I found the ‘California Maritime Academy’ in South-West Vallejo, which had classrooms and is less a mile away from Sandy Beach Road.

I wonder if cryptology has been taught at the California Maritime Academy and who had been working/studying there?

Regarding ‘George’ at 20, Sandy Beach Road:

There is a psychiatrist living/practicing at 20, Sandy Beach Road:

If he was there already 40 years ago, ‘George’ (BRS) might have been one of his clients..

As a graduate of the illustrious Calif Maritime Academy I can tell you that there was no cryptology taught at CMA

There are yearbooks going back quite a while. I have no idea if they are on any of the online services, I never had the reason to look.

If Zodiac were a merchant marine, it explains his ability to actually “vanish” for extended periods of time. The guy could walk off into another country if he wanted and come back when the heat fizzled. It also helps explain the paramilitary vibe Zodiac gave off.

But I would not be shocked if this guess were wrong.

That was too much!
