I was looking for some information regarding the Santa Rosa murders when I found this thread. I do not know anything of the girl killed or this Janice Crum beyond this thread. I find it a very interesting case and will certainly read more on the subject. However, just reading the contents of the letter provided by Morf, I get a sense that this "Janice Crum" doesn’t exist. There appears to be the air of a split personality, whether an intentionally crafted illness by the writer or, one that actually exists. Just doesn’t seem the work of two "real" people.

There was a real ‘Janice Crum’ in the Lancaster area, close to Lindy Biechler, and I have come to the conclusion, that this woman is the one that the letter writer mentioned, although I think she has no connection to the crime, but rather, the letter writer was an ex-boyfriend, a co-worker,somebody that did not like her, etc….

:D Definitely a major step in the Biechler case…did she actually ever respond to our request? I’m still convinced that it shouldn’t be only her decision to clear up why her name is on that letter..

Are there any relatives of Lindy who could support us in that issue? IF she had written that part of the letter – and even if she had not – she might be the only (!) key to solve that case..

To not respond at all isn’t the most cooperative sign, is it? For the local PD it should be an easy one to clear that up, and yes murder doesn’t fall under the statue of limitations..

We should probably keep this in the Lindy section. As far as I know, Janice Crum in PA did not respond to questions, nor do I know if she was ever asked any questions, or contacted. I do talk with Members of Lindy’s Family occasionally, and I am hoping to meet up with them this summer.
