In Sept- Oct of 1969 a movie was being made for the CBS Thursday night movie, in the Napa wine country. It was named "Hunter’s are for killing", staring Burt Reynolds , Suzanne Pleshette, Melvin Douglas, Peter Brown and many other fine actors. Some scenes were shot in St Helena, Napa and Santa Rosa. Looking back I wondered if Zodiac watched any of it being filmed, being he enjoyed movies and he was in that area around that time? The title reminds me of his first cypher about hunting and killing.

Burt had a stalker right after he did that film. I was told that they were going up to Lake Berryessa to do some of the filming, it looked like Lake B in the movie , but was told that it was probably done at a Lake closer to St Helena rather than Lake B.
That was after the Lake B stabbing by about a week or two later.
Some of the wine scenes were at Mondovi and Christian Bros.

I fixed the date in your post Sandy. You had put sept-oct 1069. You must have been thinking of the original starring Sir Burt le Rey-nold de Caleaf.
