* Couple killed on lovers lane

* Shot with a small caliber handgun

* Killed 11pm-12midnight (same time as LHR & BRS attacks)

*Female victim taken away from scene (like Johns)

*Female taken to a Park (like BRS park)

* Female shot in back as she ran

*Attack happened near PLEASANTON (didnt Z mail a letter from there??)

This great article shows the victims reported being followed and getting prank calls prior to their murders. Does this sound like any victim of Zodiac’s?

I reached out to Alameda County Sheriff’s dept, (and to a now retired Detective)and he believed that this case could indeed be a zodiac crime. The M.O. was similar, as was the weapon. Over the years, many of the reports & paperwork was lost at the Sheriff’s office, but luckily, the bullets from the crime remain. He contacted Solano County sheriff’s and asked to compare his bullets to the bullets from the Lake Herman Rd crime scene. Examination came back inconclusive because the bullets Solano gave him were too badly damaged. These are pics of the bullet evidence from the June 8,1967 crime

AK WILKS noted this about the date of the murders:

Credit goes to the oft brilliant Mr. Kite for first looking into the idea, I took his idea and expanded and found further examples, just as Quagmire and Bentley have done.

Basically, if you take the numbers for ALL of the confirmed Zodiac murders, add up the numbers for the month, day and year, they add up to numbers divisible by 5 and forming a pattern from 80 to 105.

This is interesting, if only because it defies logic and laws of probability that ALL the confirmed Zodiac murders and at least four suspected ones should match up in this mathematical way. The matches so far are:

Jensen/Faraday (12/20/68) = 12 + 20 + 68 = 100

Ferrin/Mageau (7/4/69) = 7 + 4 + 69 = 80

Hartnell/Sheperd (9/27/69) = 9 + 27 + 69 = 105

Stine (10/11/69) = 10 + 11 + 69 = 90

Johns (3/22/70) = 3 + 22 + 70 = 95

Radetich (6/19/70) = 6 + 19 + 70 = 95

Lass (9/6/70) = 9 + 6 + 70 = 85

Webster (11/28/69) = 11 + 28 + 81 = 120

This Alameda case does not fit, but IF the killer had intended to strike on June 7, 1967, meaning 6/7/67, which is:

6 + 7 + 67 = 80

then it would fit.

Those bullets look like they are hollow points right ? The lands and groves look clean enough , I wonder what the problem was ?
Sure seems Z like to me, phone calls and all.

The photos above are from the bullets in the Alameda case. There are no pics from Solano County’s Lake Herman Rd bullets. But he told me that they were too damaged to make a comparison

The first bullet you showed looks pristine to me ? The others yes they would be hard to get the lands and groves from. I sometimes wonder if some of the Det. just say things to pacify people ? Perhaps Daniel G can look at that top bullet and tell us what he thinks about the one that looks so good ?

I think that the .22 Cal bullets used at Lake Herman rd were the ones that had six lands and 6 groves all with a right hand twist ? That top bullet from the Alameda case, shows some lands and groves . That one could have come from one of the body’s and didn’t get as damaged as the other two . Nice work by the way Morf !

Morf13 has written a well constructed, interesting news article on my site, forming a more than possible connection between the murders of Enedine Molina & Fermin Rodriguez on the evening of June 8th 1967 and many Zodiac traits, involving 2 and 1/2 years of dedicated research. Please take a look.

The following cases all had Super X .22 with six lands and grooves, right hand twist:

6/63 Santa Barbara

12/68 Zodiac LHR

6/68 Robison Family Michigan

I think that this Alameda case also fits the general description of the bullets used.

Unfortunately your story posted on my site will eventually move down the blog pages and eventually off the homepage as new stories are posted, so I have also placed it on a permanent page here http://www.zodiacciphers.com/the-forgotten-victims.html
The page also comes with audio description, so persons with limited english textual skills may have a better chance audibly.
Also people can listen away from the computer screen.
Yours sincerely,
Richard.
P.S don’t forget any stories, anytime.
Cheerio.

Thanks AK , I don’t believe I have read anything about the Robison case , but I will see what I can find that is pretty interesting, Michigan 6 months before Lake Herman rd.

Yes, great article + detective work, Morf. Spycatcher, I will have to check out your site, unfortunately there are so many that it’s easy to overlook some!
This is certainly one of the most convincing ‘possibles’ that I’ve heard of, so much so that it’s quite strange that no-one outside the local police made the connection much sooner – once the Bates connection was made to Zodiac it’s odd that there wasn’t a more enthusiastic search through all unsolved crimes of the prior 10 years (until of course, the rise of internet forums).
