The Foreigner, you’re welcome!

One thought, they were planted in Shiri-Dine’s car, after the PD searched it & it was sitting there forever? Yes, it’s crazy for sure, and not a crime that we can find more information on. Please use your powers and see if you can track now anything more. Just the idea that she was found on Reservoir Road, which is right off of Lake Herman Rd. and so close to the LHR Crime scene, and her car a 1969 Ford Torino was found at Blue Rock Springs at a 90 degree angle to the parking stalls & occupying 3 spaces, same area as the July 4, 1969 attack on Dee and Mike M. She lived with her mother in a mobile-home park on American Canyon Road. She was struck on the head, strangled and stabbed at least 25 times. Stabbed 25 times, that’s over kill.
I’m glad Lyndon shared this and other information with us in his book! He shared some information that no other Z researcher had tracked down.

Zincerely, Zam*

An obituary of her late sister:

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

I remember vividly my father always took his watch off and hung it on the indictor lever whenever he had to lift the hood change a tire or work on the car ..way back in the 70s..

Are you saying your father should be considered a suspect? :o

A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….

Isn’t everyone’s father Z . Alas he never left the great southern land so I can not write a book proclaiming him to be Z. And he would have to have worn stilettos to get to 5ft 10

Opinion, what I was pointing out is that it was something that was done back in the day. Which raises the question. Did the perp offer to fix her car and test drive it pull over and fix the wheel or something in his ruse. Put his watch on the indicator out of habit. ("Habit" being that he worked on cars a lot and always did this) How could a proper search of the car miss the watch and the knife? Fascinating failure on the police departments behalf. And the follow up from them when shown the items is some what obtuse. Maybe the car was never forensically examined just dusted for prints and left to sit in the compound. Without knowing what really went on It seems on the surface little effort was given to the victim or the family by both the police and the press in comparison to other murders. Socio economic crimes commonly get less attention. Sad!

I recall that on the old forum Morf told us that he had spoken to, or communicated with in some way, Shiri-Dine’s brother. The brother told Morf that Shiri-Dine’s murder had been solved but could not or would not elaborate further. A couple of our posters expressed interest in visiting the Benicia Police Department to find out if this was still an open case but I do not know if this was ever done. If this is a closed case then we are just spinning our wheels with this thread.

I would have to go back and check this, it may have been quite a while because I don’t remember this, then again, old age may be kicking in ;)

Just searched my emails and I can not find any emails from her Brother. I vaguely do remember hearing from him, but not sure if it was via email, since I likely would NOT delete it

For some reason I had it in my head that you had spoken to him and maybe you say that you did in another post on that old thread, I didn’t re-read the whole thing again. It’s funny the things I remember and the things that I don’t remember commenting on but then discover that I did! I think we all do it from time to time and it has nothing to do with age.

Anyway, in light of possibility that you did get info from Shiri-Dine’s brother, I don’t think you made that up, we probably should find out if this is still an open case or not. I know there are posters here that live in the area, maybe they could do a little sleuthing and go by Benicia PD and ask????

I’ll add that to my to do list. As this case always interested me.
I recall Morf didn’t have much info to share. My understanding is, that a guy they were looking at was ruled out. The brother could of just thought it was solved. Regardless it would be interesting to know who that guy was & more about this case. It’s still very strange the locations & etc.

I have searched for important emails in the past adamant that I had received one, only to later find it had been sent as a text message.

I’m with you on that Zamantha.. it is an interesting case and would like to know if it was solved or they had a prime suspect…
especially if the suspect had a name like Sullivan or such?

Thanks Zamantha! Hopefully you can get to that soon so it’s not forgotten about again. It is odd that the brother believes his sister’s murder has been solved, if it hasn’t been solved.

If Zodiac was the perp in Sheri’s murder, it wouldn’t surprise me if he killed her someplace else and put the glasses back on her after he dumped her body , just to mystify the police.

The lack of any blood with that many stab wounds makes no sense to me. Also for her car to be brought to Blue Rock Springs, would seem that there were two perps. One driving Sheri’s car and someone else following her car to Blue rock.
It would seem that the car was taken for a few days, before being dropped off ?
Pretty brazen if you ask me !

Was all of this done on purpose as a clue to who the killer was ? The car was possibly parked in the same spot as Darlene’s car was.
( At lease the same park )
The position of her body , reminded me of Cheri Jo Bates, her name was the same, only spelled differently.

The suspect may have lived in Napa at that time?

I noticed the question of why so many different police involved ? She was from Napa and may have been taken from there. Her body was found in the jurisdiction of Benicia, the car was found in Vallejo.

That to me was so like zodiac to bring in more than one dept., he likes confusion .
