Was Allen in Riverside confirmed?

Look there’s two ways you can take it. You can view Allen’s seeming incriminating statements as signs that he is suspicious, or you can view them as signs that he is lying because he wants to seem suspicious.

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense why someone would want police to think he was suspicious…but does it make more sense than the Zodiac revealing incriminating information about himself for no reason?

All of the info that he gave was stuff that investigators knew was associated with Zodiac, but didn’t actually incriminate Allen in any way, so if he was later asked to account for it he could explain that it was innocent. Like he said he was going to the Lake, but he changed his mind and didn’t go and it was not on the same day, etc.

All of the information was also public knowledge. That’s why police asked him if he was in Riverside, because everyone already knew about the Bates connection, and he would know that too. If he gave information that only the police and the killer would know, that would count for a lot more.

Charlie Martin, I find it important to note to you something that I found out recently that helped me understand the suspicions toward ALA.

The man who implicated ALA as the zodiac had a daughter that might have been sexually abused by ALA. if it is true ALA abused or tried to abuse that little girl her father might have a personal axe to grind with ALA. what better way to screw someone over than see similarities between them and Z and implicate them as Z to the police? Though one must ask why this man would continue to hang around a pedophile like ALA or why they were friends in the first place, let alone why the man would allow ALA to be around his daughter????

Circumstancially, it’s almost comical just how bad of luck ALA had – so many things pointed toward him being a POI. It’s startling! If not for the DNA and palm print rule outs I would still be inclined to think ALA was involved. And who knows, maybe ALA did the killing and he had someone else write the letters (the source of the DNA/prints). Could ALA have had a partner? Could the partner that wrote the letters have tried to screw him over by implicating him? Many theories have arose from these musings. If he did indeed commit some or all of the Zodiac killings with a partner and his partners DNA/profile is all we sourced from the letters ALA could still be a POI. But we have no proof he had a partner so as of now it all is theory as far as the letter DNA/print belonging to a partner of ALA scenario.

I think it’s interesting a poster mentioned that the weekend of CJB death there was some car racing festival/convention or something going on. I can’t find that member’s post but they were from Riverside.

If it’s true there were car races or some sort of race car convention going on the weekend of Cheri’s death in Riverside I find this interesting because ALA was taking racecar courses in Riverside In 1962. Cheney claims this to Voigt at the transcript provided.
