Something that came to my mind. How many freshman high school students attending Ramona High would know what the name of their yearbook, "Aries", means? Not too many, I’d hazard. So, naturally, they’d ask some worldly sophomore. And the answer likely would be: "It’s a sign of the Zodiac; it means, "Ram."
Just a thought… .

Yes, as a former graduate of Ramona High School I am well aware of the Aries meaning. I have mentioned the connection to the Zodiac many times to different people and have always gotten strange looks. The zodiac sign of Aries was used quite often by the Zodiac. Coincidence? Who knows?

Actually, I’m not aware of him using it at all. Except maybe one time and it was upside down.

I agree. In the "My name Is" cipher Zodiac used what might, arguably, be called an upside down Aries.

But he certainly did not use it "quite often" and he never once used any of the other known astrological symbols, despite naming himself "Zodiac."

EDIT: There are some slightly different ways of these being rendered/drawn here: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/or … 3471c9.jpg but he never used any of these either.
